I didn't have many of my belongings here, not any that I wanted to keep anyway, so I quickly packed up and left, making my bed as I went.
When I opened the door, the temperature changes. In my room it was warm but in the hall it was crisp and cold. I almost shivered.
None of the guards stopped me as I made my way toward the entrance. I wanted out. I was not an animal that was kept against her will. I know I has the chance to leave whenever I wanted, but that's what it felt like, that I was in a luxurious cage.
I defiantly pushed open the front door and lifted my head high. It was even colder outside. I took a deep breath in. I was going to walk. I was strong. My always-calculating brain recognized the exact temperature: 42 degrees. Not that cold.
I walked, and I was glad I changed before I left. Now I was wearing jet black combat boots, dark pants, and a regular old t-shirt. Not my regular attire, but it was comfortable. I spotted Ruby sector and smiled. I made it. It hasn't even been that long either. I eagerly walked up the steps and placed my hand on the door knob of my apartment. It was warm, meaning that someone was here.
Someone was here.
