S1 Ep3

"So here's what we're going to do: I'm gonna chase a few more leads. Meanwhile, you three are going to stake out the library." Kari says leaning against her car. "A stakeout sounds so exciting!" Tori says putting her fist up cheerfully. "Why did I get hungry when you said that?" Yuma says rubbing his stomach. "You're always hungry but don't let your appetite distract you. I wanna track this hacker down, and make him pay for deleting my big scoop!" "So what was your sister's 'big scoop'" Lulu says doing quotation marks. "Ice cream." "Yuma I'm serious." "So am I. She discovered that the local ice cream parlor is a front for criminal organization."

 Yuma says leaning against the bookcase. "Yuma we're supposed to keep our eyes open." Tori says. "There's nothing to see." It was later and the sun was about to set and Yuma let out a big great yawn. "Nobody's coming." Lulu says looking through the gap in the bookcase while Tori looks down at her smartphone. "It's almost time for the library to close." "Maybe the sinister bad guy took a day off." 

"Or perhaps we have found her." Tori say's and all three look at where she discreetly points to a girl with light blue hair who is wearing a Heartland Duel Academy uniform and has grayish-blue eyes. She typed on the computer before a loading icon popped up with a Crashbug icon on it and she starts to panic. "No! It wasn't supposed to launch!" Before she could do anything else on the computer Yuma grabs her wrist. 

"Caught red handed. Now tell us why you did it!" "I didn't do anything, Yuma." She then pushes Yuma away and goes back to the computer her legs curling up under her. "Don't lie! I saw you upload the virus and- Ummm... What are you doing?" Yuma asks the girl seeing she is typing furiously away and that a bunch of numbers are popping up all over the computer's screen. 

"I'm tracking the source of the rootkit if I can pinpoint the location this machine was just accessed from, then we'll know where the criminal is and... I found some encrypted data racket that led me to believe I could access a file on this computer to learn who the criminal is but turns out the file was a sort of denator and now the virus is uploading!" 

Aki then takes both of her fists and smashes down on the keyboard out of frustration and suddenly it starts to crackle, smoke starts coming from it and sparks of electricity as well. "Ahhh!" Aki jumps from her chair and away from the computer.

"At least now I've got the location." She points to the computer screen. "your friend triggered a countdown?" Kari asks shaking her head she knew that sooner rather than later Heartland city would be plunged into chaos. "We sent you the access stuff, try to stop it! We're on our way to the location where the hacker's hiding out!" "But Yuma it could be dangerous!" Kari says in her older sister tone. "Don't worry sis I'll be fine!" Yuma says looking to his phone before hanging up. The group was led to a tower under construction and they stopped to look up. 

"This is it." Aki says looking at the tower. "You know Aki I think you may be wrong." Yuma says and then the girl turns red in the face at this. "Ughh I tracked it properly, I know I did." Then a door closes behind them. "You finally put the pieces together! It took you a lot longer than I thought it would." "Mr. Kay? You have some explaining to do!" Aki shouts to her math teacher her math teacher starts to ignore Aki while he eerily laughs he pulls off his tie and throws off his glasses the group then see's a Number appear on Mr. Kay's neck. 

"A Number!" Yuma and Taehyung both say at the same time. "You cannot stop me." "I can't believe it." Yuma shouts. "That human bears the mark of a Number." He whispers to Yuma and they both nod knowing what they must do. "I challenge you to a duel!" Yuma says throwing up his duel disk so it lands on his arm and putting his duel gazer on. "You want to duel me Yuma?! I'm not so sure that is wise of you!" "If I win you have to put an end to this virus!" Yuma says and Mr. Kay nods as a dark purple aura surrounds him.

"But why do you think you can defeat me?" "Because now I'm feeling the flow!"

"Let's duel!"

"I know you can win Yuma!" Tori says cheering on her friend. "He has too or else I'll take the fall." Aki says whispering while she crosses her fingers. "Let's go Yuma!" Lulu say's putting her arm in the air enthusiastically such as Tori did. 

"I believe the first move is mine! I draw! I place a monster facedown in defense mode!" Now it's Yuma's turn and he draws. "I summon Gagaga Magician! Wait maybe since I don't know what it is maybe I shouldn't attack. Never mind! No point in thinking, Gagaga Magician attack Mr. Kay!" "Not a chance. Crashbug X, show yourself." The smallest of the crashbugs pop up and a white protective cube appears around it. 

"Crashbug!" Gagaga Magician is zapped and Yuma's lifepoints drop down to 3500. "Oh man I just got schooled." "How come Yuma lost lifepoints if his monster is on the field?" Tori asks. "If you attack a monster in defense mode, the attacking monster isn't destroyed, even if the defending monster has higher defense points. If you subtract the defense points from the attacking monster's attack points you'd get 500 which is why he took that damage." 

Aki says to Tori and she then nods at this. "It's my turn now, I draw! First I summon Crashbug Y!" "Crashbug!" The monster says as it appears onto the field. "And with that done, I activate the Crashbug Road Spell Card! From my hand, now, we each pick Level 4 or below monster on our field then we each summon a monster from our hands that has the same level we chose. I choose Crashbug Z!"

"The only monster on my field is Gagaga Magician so that means... Sweet!" Yuma says looking down at his hand of cards. I can summon Gogogo Golem!" "I would highly advise summoning that golem in defense mode, since it has an ability that prevents it from being destroyed in battle." "If I wanted advice, I'd ask for it. I summon Gogogo Golem in attack mode! How you like that?" Yuma says mocking Astral at that last part. 

"With 1800 attack points this Golem won't be going down easily." "I'm afraid this is what we call a teachable moment, Yuma." "Huh?" Yuma says confused and Aki facepalms herself as she knows what Mr. Kay is talking about. "Yuma he's going to Overlay them! That means he'll bring out his Number card!" Lulu shouts to the boy and Yuma's eyes widen realizing his mistake at once. 

"It's over, Yuma. I overlay crashbug X, Y, and Z with these three monsters I build the Overlay network!" All three Crashbugs turn into purple beams of energy and go into a stormy like portal. "Number 34! Terror Byte! I'm activating Terror Byte's special ability! Like a denominator absorbs a numerator in perfect fractional ratio, by using one Overlay Unit, I can take control of one of your monsters! Your Gogogo Golem is mine." 

While Yuma freaks out Lulu shakes her head."He should've listened to Astral." "And now Gogogo Golem destroy Gagaga Magician!" Once Gagaga Magician is destroyed Yuma's lifepoints drop down to 3200. "No, Gagaga!"

Now we see Kari typing on her computer at home. "Sweet, I've broken through the viral program's firewall. Now where's the deactivation code?" Now Kari's eyes notice the dungeon maze built in by the virus.

 "So I've gotta make it through this dungeon maze and the clock is still ticking." "You'll never defeat me, Yuma. Your dueling is too imperfect." "My dad used to say that imperfection is what makes us awesome." "Perfection is everything." Mr. Kay says. "I teach math because it is the pursuit of absolute perfection. The only reason your father said that was so you wouldn't feel bad about being a failure." "You're wrong Yuma isn't a failure!" Lulu says defiantly to Mr. Kay and giving him a very intimidating look. "Lulu's right Yuma isn't a failure and we'll always believe in him!" Tori says putting her fist up.
