This Means War

Yori’s POV

15 ninja with a sigma I can’t recognise jump out and start attacking us. A big guy with a purple mohawk wielding two katanas comes running at me, I run forward and attack him, my nails growing long meeting the two swords that swung my way. ‘I have been practicing, breathe, let yourself cool down’. I grip his swords and make a swift kick to his stomach launching him back several meters. I close my eyes for a split second and breathe deeply, I feel my eyes change and open them, ‘this is weird, everything is tinted blue’. I disregard my colour orientation and focus on making the ground ice, the area gets colder, frost begins to form, the guy I took down runs back towards me angry as ever. He steps on the frosty patch of grass and slides forward, I jump over him and hear a ‘clunk’. 

I turn around to see the ninja fall on Kakashi, ‘I am in so much trouble’ I note as Kakashi throws the man off of him and storms towards me. “What the hell! Can’t you do anything right?” “Of course I can, but I don’t know about you. After all you let a ninja fall on you.” “That was your fault! You are so inept! Just leave the fighting to someone who can actually use there jutsu properly!” “Okay Kaka-baka, you just sit over there,” I indicate the carriage that for now has been left unguarded and unharmed “and leave the fighting to me.” I smirk victoriously. “Gah!” Kakashi runs to me and slips, I just move to the side and he slides by me trying to get his footing. “Can’t you stand on ice, its similar to the same principle of walking up trees and on water, or are you too inept to do that” I taunt, ‘he starts it, I finish it’. 

Kakashi gets his footing and turns to me swiftly. We begin arguing like no tomorrow, the ninja who fell on Kakashi comes up to us, “My, my, a lovers quarrel in the middle of a fight will get you killed kiddies” “SHUT UP!” Kakashi and I say and punch the guy out at the same time. “Don’t interfere with my fight!” Kakashi says growling at me, ‘I will show him a growl’ my teeth elongated I growl furiously as if I am going to rip of his head, “he was mine first now go do your job” I tell him slicing the up coming ninja’s torso, letting him bleed to death. 

We continue to fight the ninja’s while arguing amongst ourselves. “Team!” Minato sensei shouts as he takes on 5 ninja at once ‘he is so cool!’, he indicates to the businessman’s wagon while taking out one of the ninja with his rasengan. We all look to the wagon and notice a ninja grab a bag and bolts. “Oi, don’t let him take it! Thats important! Get to it!” Donyoku shouts ordering us around. 

“I will get it!” Kakashi and I shout. “No I will get it!” we shout again. “How about I get it” Obito buts in, “not now Obito” we both shout again, gah! I leap over Kakashi and change form, I hear a startled gasp coming from Donyoku, but regardless I tear off into the forest to hunt for the ninja. I smell blood on the ground and get instantly dizzy, my vision distorting. I shake my head in hopes of getting rid of the nausea. 

Although my world stopped spinning, I still feel really sick. I start to run after the man. I see him and close the distance between us. “Rawwr!” I jump on him but he was prepared, he poofed away. I stand back and try to find where he is. “He went that way!” I hear a voice, I turn around and notice a small grey and white wolf. I walk up to him and put my paw on his head, “thank you!” 

I run in the direction given to me, ‘aha! I smell him!’. I stop running and jump behind a bush, careful to not make any sound. I creep forward, in my stalking position, I keep my ears and eyes peeled for any movements, but looking at him I think he thinks he's lost me. I follow him a bit more, as I am about to pounce, my vision distorts making me fall out of my hiding place and into open view. The ninja turns around and weaves hand signs. “Earth style: frenzy plant”. Large vines come from all directions and hold me down. I struggle to move but the plants get tighter. “Be a good puppy and I will end your misery” the ninja says pulling out a kunai moving towards my neck. ‘Such a shame I am a bad puppy’ I mentally grin, waiting for the ninja to get close enough, I stop moving and look down, pretending to submit defeat. “Now, aren’t you a good puppy.” His hand is several inches a way from my neck, I turn my head swiftly and bite his hand. “Ouch! You stupid mutt! I am going to kill you!” ‘Weren’t you already going to do that’ I sweatdrop. 

I try to move but I am locked in place. ‘Why aren’t I strong enough!’ The ninja picks up his fallen kunai with his bloody hand, “I can’t wait to make you howl” he laughs. “I won’t let you hurt her!” the little wolf I met earlier runs out and bites the ninja’s leg. “Oi!” he shakes his leg hard, launching the small wolf into a tree. He gets up slowly, “I think I will toy with this one for a while” the ninja says with a sadistic grin. ‘No!’ I growl. 

‘Deep breathes’. The air gets cooler, the ninja picks the wolf up by the back of his neck. I observe how I am trapped, the plants seem to be letting loose. I bite the plant closest to me making it let me have upper body movement, I do the same for the other vines keeping me down. I notice the vines have turned frozen. ‘Woah! Is this a new jutsu? Cool! Made it up on the spot! Wait, what is it?’ 

“Yelp!” I turn around to see the ninja throw the wolf pup on the floor, standing on him, completely not noticing me. I launch into the air and bite the left side of his stomach, breaking part of his rib cage and lower spine, I sink my teeth in further, the ninja yells in pain, however I don’t let go. I shake my head, tearing his skin further, I peer into the wounds I am creating and notice its turning blue. ‘Aha! I have an ice bite! I know what to call it! Ice Style: icy fang!’ I chant in my head. 

The ninja drops to the floor dead. I see the wolf pup howl. “Are you okay?” “Y-yeah.” “Where is your family?” “They were killed” “Oh, would you like to be apart of my family, so far its just me and a stupid roommate you are free to bite” “Really?” “Sure, any who, whats your name kid?” I ask the pup grabbing the bag with my teeth. “Storm.” (A/N Yori can communicate to wolves and other canines when in her wolf form and in normal form, anybody else - beside her clan - won’t be able to understand, unless she is in her human form then people will hear a one sided conversation) 

“Nice name,” I lower myself on my back “Hop on my back, by the way, the names Yori.” Storm, who would come up to my knee in human form, climbs on my back. As we start walking my sickness comes back really hard, I collapse on the ground, changing forms as it happens. I hop on my knees and throw up behind the nearest bush. “Are you okay!?” Storm asks rubbing his head on my back towards my left shoulder. I wipe my mouth, “I am fine, must have been something I ate” I wave of dismissively. ‘Don’t want him to worry, he has enough to deal with at the moment.' 

I pick up the bag and put it in my ninja pouch. I also pick up Storm and carry him in my arms. By the time I got back to the team Storm was asleep snoring cutely. “That took you forever, I would have finished in half the time.” “Shut up Kakashi! Yori did fine! Woah whose that?” Obito backs me up, walking forward taking notice of Storm. “This is Storm, he is now apart of my family.” “He isn’t staying with us.” Kakashi says. “What! You live together!” Obito shouts. I blush and look towards Rin who looks down at the ground. I look back towards Obito and smack the back of his head, ending his nonsense rantings, “It isn’t like that!”
