🖤Chapter 14🖤

"What did you say?" I ask Nova still looking at the new famous friend group walking down the hall with such confidence.

"That's the guys I was telling you about earlier." She says. "They irritate me if I am being honest. They have been here for one day and they seem like the talk of the town already."

I suddenly get a numbing pain in my lower stomach and touch it subconsciously.

What was that?

It's been happening for a while now, and I don't know what it is. I guess it would be expected if you think about the trauma my body went through.

I wasn't completely healed from all that happened in those few days, but I couldn't be more thankful that I was back to this boring life of mine, already back in routine.

Didn't stop me from checking over my shoulder every once in a while.

I have not yet returned to skating.

I look over at Nova, "I have the feeling I won't like them either." I smile looking at her neatly done hair, making a note to compliment her.

"Ouch." A voice says behind me. I turn around and see one of the three boys I didn't recognize, stand behind me.

"Hi." I say awkwardly, looking back at Nova and sucking in my lip to chew on it.

Busted.

"Hello." He hides a small smile. I see a girl that waited for him turn and walk away after receiving a wink.

I turn towards my locker and take out the books I needed for the day. I didn't want to deal with this today.

No doubt that Nova was gorgeous. She attracts a lot of boy attention with her looks.

"I'm Taylor." He smiles and sicks his hand out for me to take. I narrow my eyes at him.

I take it hesitantly. "Sam." I smile a fake smile.

"Did I hear you say you hate us before you even got to know us?" He asks, faking being offended by touching his heart.

"Maybe." I say looking back at Nova that's suddenly got a nauseous look upon her face.

Before he could answer the blonde boy pulls him away from me and drags him with him down the hall and away from us.

Weird, right.

The day goes on normally and by being in a rather small school I spot the newly famous guys and girls everywhere.

"I heard the blonde boy's name is Derek." Nova whispers to me outside at lunch.

"Okay." I say, not sure why she told me. "And the curly haired boy. His name is Cielo." She smiles.

"And the point is?" I ask with a teasing smile. Somewhere inside of Nova I knew she had to crave for that attention, she was a pretty girl.

"That I am good at stalking people." She says proudly, then bursts out laughing at herself.

I giggle and shake my head at her sillyness. She was indeed a good stalker. Joe Goldberg still takes the winning spot though.

"Heard my name." A voice says behind us. It's Cielo voice, Derek and two other girls following close behind them.

Great.

Why are they always around us? Is this because of what I said this morning? Is this punishment?

They sit down at our table without hesitation or invite.

"What do you want?" Nova growls out in-front of me to Cielo who had taken a seat next to her.

"Well to sit of course." Cielo shrugs.

I zone out on a bird in a nearby tree. Derek or whatever hasn't said anything and neither have the girls. Derek hasn't even spared anyone a glance. He was too fixated on the two girls throwing themselves at his feet.

Such a damn cliché.

"Leave." Nova says.

"Why?" Cielo smirks and moves closer to rub against her. "Don't you like me?"

"You irritate me on a whole new level, estupido." She mumbles moving away and closer to the edge.

"Did you find Gaia?" I ask Cielo curiously, cutting off their banter that was about to expand tremendously.

Nova gives me a look of confusion but I try to wave her off into silence.

"I guess not." He says softly looking at Derek and the two girls.

I follow his lone of sight and my head freezes. Derek was staring at me now.

"What?" I ask him. He looks away and shakes his head, rolling his eyes.

"Don't be a bitch. You should be lucky we're even here. Who are they even?" A girl to his left speaks up.

"I am Fiona." I give her a sarcastic smile. "Nice to meet ya." I see Derek with a small smile tugging on his lips. Why was he smiling? It should've been an insult to him too.

"Let's take a walk." Cielo says to Nova and the two girls. "Mommy and Daddy need to have a talk."

"Nope." Nova smile sarcastically. "I am not going anywhere with you."

Cielo sighs and pulls her up with him. "And I need to talk to you dearest."

They all disappear around the corner, the girls into the unknown and left me shocked. Even Derek looked confused for a moment too. It was silent for a while until I couldn't take it any more.

I was about to get up when his voice stopped me. "Gaia. Can we talk?"

"We don't have anything to talk about." I snap back at him. I have an awful history with popular kids I didn't want to make it part of my future too.

"It's me." He says, his eyes not leaving the tree across from us.

"Who?" I ask confused, following his line of sight. He was also staring at the bird from earlier.

"Cygnus" He sighs wiping his hand over his face.

"How do you know Cygnus?" I ask frowning deeply.

"I'm him." He stated irritated.

"Umm, no. I don't know how you know him, but I am sure that you are definitely not him." I say walking away.

He stands up, "Fine then." He grabs my arm and spins me around to face him.

The sparks fly through my arm and I seem to have forgotten how good they felt. I was really missing Cygnus for a while now and I didn't understand why. I suddenly felt whole again.

I gasp as I hit his chest, pushing him away from me. We lose contact and the sparks disappear instantly.

"See." He whispers, looking back at me.

I look back at the same bird in the tree, now staring down at us. This has to be some kind of trick.

Sick people.

"Stay away from me." I warn him with dagger eyes. Did Nova have something to do with this?

I feel tears threatening to fall as I thought of him. Where is he? Was he okay? It had to be him who brought me home that day.

I storm away and walk to where Nova disappeared with Cielo.
