I really felt the need to say this. -
This has been said so many times that I fear it's meaning has been left slightly cliched, however, this is one of the most important things, I think, as a "help" based page, that i can say to you. Love yourself first. That means make sure you're okay before you deal with anyone else. If you need to take that extra day or just do something for yourself, you do it. Don't let anyone make you feel like putting yourself first makes you conceded or vain, that's complete volatile stupidity. -
So many of you struggle with something, in fact, I'd bet all of you do. Be it a hard exam or even a fight with friends, or something more sever, like a mental illness, everyone's struggle is validated and needs to be cared for. I myself, struggle with severe anxiety, panic disorder with offset paranoia and depression. I don't like to talk about all that but I feel it could help. At the time of writing this, I was feeling very anxious, and I was bagging on myself for it. Telling myself I needed to "get over it" and "grow up". This is when I knew I needed to post this. -
Please remember that your struggles, your past and your mistakes do not define you. Take time for yourself, put yourself first, treat yourself. Break the plans you didn't want to take part in anyways, watch a movie and eat the whole box of sweets. Allow yourself to take a breath, remember to drawl yourself some slack. You're human. And you're doing a damn good job at being you. -
Once you love yourself first, everything will begin to fall into place. Your friendships and/or relationships will get stronger, your health will improve, and you will see just how great you feel. Believe me when I say, it helps. -
