Hermiome stared at me all the way to Hogsmead. She would occasionally tut and mutter something to herself. I on the other hand, was beaming and laughed every time she got grumpy.
"You'll get expelled." She finally said.
"Not if noone tells." I smirked at her. "Promise you won't?"
"No, of course I won't tell, but I will be following you around to make sure it doesn't happen again."
"Well I guess we'll just have to do it with you watching!" I joked. Hermione looked disappointed with me, as always.
"Seriously? Draco?" Okay now it was less mean and she actually was curious.
"Uh huh. Draco."
"Harry's going to hate you."
"Good, then the hatred will be equal."
Luna joined the conversation. "I could see why you chose Draco."
"Really?" Hermione and I both questioned.
"You're both as desperate for love as each other so it makes sense."
"If he wanted that he'd just go out with Pansy Parkinson." I mumbled.
"And he did, but she left for Dean because she was more desperate." Luna horribly explained.
I couldn't believe what she said made sense. But neither of us were like that! I would never. "Shut up." I walked off back in the direction of the castle. I heard Hermione shout but I threw my hand up to tell her, no.
As I got to the entrance I rounded the corner and slammed into someone. "Sorry," I muttered and tried to walk around them but they blocked my path. Draco.
"What's the matter?" He asked. Bringing his hand to my chin.
"Nothing." I tried to pull away but his hands were firm on my waist. I could feel tears welling up in my eyes and knew I had to get away.
"Are you crying?" He said, a little harsher than expected. "What- why?"
"Just something Luna said." My voice caught in my throat.
"That little-" His eyes wandered to to the two figures slowly making their way towards us.
I tore myself out his grasp and sprinted down the hall. I could hear footsteps following me. I ran faster, so I was tripping over myself and people were moving out the way to let me past. I didn't know where to go.
Somehow I lost Draco in the crowds and found myself outside the room of requirement. Filch's chair outside was empty, unguarded. I asked the room for a place to hide.
The door swung open to reveal shelves stacked to the ceiling with items. It was the one George had shown me. I ran into the room, tears streaking down my face. Collapsing on the floor, with my back against a pile of old books, I began to cry.
Was it really true? Were we both just desperate and didn't care about each other? No, it couldn't be like that. It couldn't. Luna had to be wrong. I wouldn't let that be true.
The only problem was that I felt like it was.
I heard the door swing open and footsteps stumbled forwards. A gasp of suprise followed. They warily moved forwards stopping every now and again. I saw a glimpse of platinum blonde hair between the shelves. Draco.
I attempted to push myself further out of view but knocked over a pile of books. They fell down on my head and I had to refrain from welping in pain. My cover was blown. His footsteps turned into running, I threw myself upright and made a break for the door. When I turned the handle it was locked and Draco was pushed against me from behind.
