Run and Fall

I used to have a beautiful home.
It was three stories high,
Only three years old.

I used to have a beautiful lawn.
A hundred meters wide,
And never too tall.

I should've known that,
Beautiful things never last.

I used to have a beautiful mom.
She was young at the time,
Gave me all I need.

I used to have a beautiful friend.
She was in all my dreams,
All I ever wanted.

I should've known that,
Beautiful things never last.

I used to have a beautiful face.
Not a spot to be seen,
Not a hair misplaced.

I used to have a beautiful mind.
Every thought was perfect,
So pure and kind.

I should've known that,
Beautiful things never last...

What I should've known,
Is what I was shown!
It's when I grew up,
Now I am corrupt.

What I should've known,
Is what I know now!
I now understand,
Now I can't stand.

It all fell down...

I used to have a beautiful home.
But a fire was lit,
And it burned down.

I used to have a beautiful lawn.
Now the grass has died,
No life to be found.

I should've known that,
Beautiful things never last.

I used to have a beautiful mom.
Now she is old and worn,
Doesn't care anymore.

I used to have a beautiful friend.
Now she is dead and gone,
On her grave I stand.

I should've known that,
Beautiful things never last.

I used to have a beautiful face.
Now it's covered with tears,
And scars and bruises.

I used to have a beautiful mind.
Now I quiver with fear,
By the memories,
Inside...

Run!
I need to hide!
Fall!
The formaldehyde!
Run!
But not too fast!
Fall!
It could never last!

Forget the past,
Beautiful things never last.
