A Mirror

Some things, can never be fixed.
The pain ebbs on,
Even with a mask on.
The bruise on the face,
Can not be erased.
Attempts to cover up,
With all of the make up.
But when it rains,
Like it always does.
The show will feign,
All the lines will be cut.
The curtains will all shut,
Realize the pain is real,
It can't ever be concealed.
The friends will be nearby,
Even though they hear the cry!

The irreparable.
Just a parable.
Of a kid, on a street,
With nothing to eat.
The wounds that hide.
The pain inside.
Full of hope, of dreams,
Regardless of the streams.
The truth is unbearable.
The irreparable.

Some things, just never change.
The war goes on,
All peace is gone.
But the smiles placate,
While we suffocate.
The band-aids are torn,
The devil is born.
But when it rains,
Like it always does.
The angels too vain,
Heaven will be lost.
Nobody cares about the cost.
An inch away,
It's a game none play,
All the cameras shine their lights,
While the rope is pulled tight!

The irreparable.
Just a parable.
Of a kid, on a street,
With nothing to eat.
The wounds that hide.
The pain inside.
Full of hope, of dreams,
Regardless of the streams.
The truth is unbearable.
The irreparable.

And yes, it's true.
I do what you do too.
And yes, I know.
I go where all must go.
And I look in the mirror.
I see a crack,
Right down the middle.
I can try all my life,
But I know.
It's irreparable.
It's irreparable.
