PDQ is seeking submissions for the WINTER 2021 issue due out Feb 1. We are looking for chick lit, women's fiction, and romantic comedy featuring female or female-identifying main characters with goals and dreams, challenges and setbacks, and happy ever after or happy for now endings. We will also consider personal narratives, essays about the chick lit genre or market, and how-to-write articles.
The theme for WINTER 2021 is LOVE IS ALL AROUND US. We highly encourage anything to do with Valentine's Day and ALL the kinds of love. We crave DIVERSITY!
Guidelines: PAY ATTENTION AS THESE HAVE CHANGED
Language: At this time we only accept/publish stories written in English.
Flash Fiction: Up to 500 words.
Fiction and Non-Fiction: 501-3000 words. (We tried the longer versions and felt it really was too long for the magazine.)
IMPORTANT!!! Follow these instructions:
Send submission via email to chicklitnest@yahoo.com with "Submission WINTER 2021" in the subject line and your submission in the body of the email. Please indicate word count at the top of your story. Attachments will not be opened.
Formatting: Spelling and grammar and proper usage of the English language is important. Please DO NOT indent your paragraphs. Use left justification and leave a blank line between paragraphs. (Just like you see here).
Deadline: January 1, 2021
Notification: We will notify you of your acceptance or rejection via email. If you are accepted, we will ask you to send us a brief bio.
Publication: If accepted, your piece will be published in an upcoming issue. You will be listed on the masthead as a contributor with a link to your profile. A link to your Wattpad profile and your bio will be included at the end of your piece. Then, you can shout it out from your profile that you've been published! Whoo-hooooo!
Following Chick Lit Nest: We'd appreciate that you follow the Chick Lit Nest, but it isn't required. It's also nice to comment on the work of others as a thank you for their contributions, but again, it is not required for acceptance.
