After the fiasco that was getting (Y/N) to date Nishinoya, one maybe would think: huh, maybe Nishinoya will be smarter about asking his boyfriend things in the future!

Wrong.

Nishinoya wanted to go on a date with (Y/N). But....

"Hey, (Y/N)?" Nishinoya wrapped his arms around his boyfriend. It was the middle of one of their more gruelling practice sessions which, sadly, meant that there was not much time for Noya to sneak in some quality time (and kisses) with his boyfriend.

Right now was his only chance, and even though it was short, Nishinoya was going to make the best of it.

"Ye–"

"(L/N)!" Tanaka shouted, running up and almost crashing into both of the second years. "How do you ask someone to go on a date with you?"

"Again? Um... well," (Y/N) started, Nishinoya watching closely as a cute thinking expression started forming on (Y/N)'s cute face.

...it needed to be planned thoroughly; it shouldn't be improvised in case you were to stumble over your words or mess up. Well, that's what Nishinoya thought he said, he was too busy staring at his face to listen.

Luckily, Nishinoya was great at plans as many should know.

He gave (Y/N) one last squeeze before going to practice with Asahi, mind rushing with ideas.

He could write his idea on a paper airplane and throw it at him. No, Nishinoya shook his head, that didn't seem right.

He could slip a note into a burger and give the burger to (Y/N)....? No. No. Nope. Even Nishinoya didn't want to see how that went wrong. He wasn't sure if eating paper was healthy for people.

He could... cry and beg. More realistic, but probably really embarrassing.

He slowly looked around the gym, searching for a good idea. His eyes soon landed on a poster, advertising for the football team.

He could make a poster listing all the reasons why (Y/N) should go on a date with him. Then he could somehow tape it to the ceiling of his living room, make (Y/N) lay or sit on his couch, and lastly, make (Y/N) look up at the ceiling. A perfect plan.

Noya nodded to himself proudly right before Sugawara launched his practice bag at him to get his attention.

———

Nishinoya had been friends with (Y/N) since their first year of high school, and he liked to think he knew almost everything about him.

But unlike what Noya predicted, (Y/N) laid on his stomach instead of his back on the couch, making his face smush into the material of the couch.

Noya let his head tilt back to the ceiling in despair. This wasn't going to be easy, was it?

"Move over." Noya prodded (Y/N) in the side until he shifted to be laying on his side. Noya wormed his way onto the couch, clinging onto (Y/N) and digging his feet into the gaps between the cushions to avoid falling off. (Y/N) wrapped the arm not trapped under them to hold Noya.

Nishinoya and (Y/N) drifted off for a few moments, before the libero suddenly jolted and snapped his head up. "What's wrong?" (Y/N) yawned, looking like he was going to turn onto his back before thinking better of it.

Noya, quickly coming up with another side plan because he was super smart, stood up off the couch. He placed his hands on his boyfriend's shoulders and pushed and pulled at him until he was on his back.
