Author's POV
A man in his late twenties was sitting comfortably on a wooden seat of an antique cafe. His keen brown eyes roamed around the place. It's still the same. The paintings on the wall were still there from the last time he visited it, with a friend. Someone that is so special to him. His fingers traced the table where they used to sit together. It's still the same. He remembered the times when they used to laugh together at his 'dad' jokes. He thought he wasn't even funny, yet he can easily make this friend of his laugh wholeheartedly at his silliness. "I miss those times," he mumbled to himself. Suddenly, a group of female teenagers entered the café and looked curiously at him. One was even examining him from head to toe. The man immediately adjusted his seat and lowered his cap. He amusingly smiled to himself and spoke, "What do I expect? She's always late."
Flashback – Twenty Years Ago
Y/N's POV
"Jin! It's your brother's birthday soon, is your family going to hold a party?" I asked excitedly.
He looked at me weirdly and said, "Why are you so thrilled about it? It's not even your birthday."
I blushed at the thought, "Well..." I fiddled with my hands in front of me. "I like him."
"What?!" He looked so shocked at my sudden confession.
I nodded and bit my lower lip, "Yes. Is there something wrong with that?"
"Nothing," he hesitantly shook his head.
Flashback – First Year of High School
Y/N's POV
"Why are you sulking?" My best friend asked me as we were seated in the front porch of our house. "Are you still upset that my brother is dating someone right now?" He mocked.
I glared at him, "What's funny about that? Can't I express my emotions?"
"I mean," he gestured using his hands as he tried to explain himself. "There are a lot of guys out there. You are still going to meet a bunch of people along the way."
"Yeah right," I shove him away.
"Hey!" He whined.
I stood up and looked at him innocently, "What?!"
"Hey you! Get back here!"
I stuck out a tongue and ran away from him. We were like kids running around in our front lawn, laughing at each other's foolishness. People were looking at us like we were two crazy teenagers. But we didn't care. What matter's the most is that, we always have each other's back.
Flashback – Second Year of High School
Y/N's POV
Valentine's day. It had always been the school's tradition to hold programs and several activities where students happily participated.
I went to Jin's classroom to invite him for an ice cream but was surprised to see his table full of gifts. I was amazed. I didn't know that my best friend was popular with girls. "Wow Jin! This is insane. Have you always been receiving such lavish gifts?" My eyes went wide upon seeing branded shirts, shoes, chocolates and many more.
"You can take them if you want," he smiled sadly.
"Hey, what's wrong?" I took an empty seat and sat in front of him.
"I don't really need these gifts."
I immediately covered his mouth, "Don't say that. They'll get upset." He was surprised as to how my hand touched his soft lips. We stared at each other's eyes for a moment and then an awkward silence dominated us. I put my hand away and continued, "So... What is it that you want? Maybe I can help you buy it."
