Linny - Ginny and Luna's Secret

Chapter 13 - Hagrid's Hut

Ginny walked up the winding staircase to the girls dormitory that night her head in a whir. She could hardly comprehend the information she had just received. First of all Snape was gay?!? He was the last person she would ever have thought of but I mean after all you don't choose who you love and internalised homophobia is 100% real.

Second of all why would he tell her. Like sure he had just saved her from detention based on hers and his sexuality but like nonetheless he hated her and her entire family's guts. Was he out of his mind?

Lost in her thoughts Ginny realised she had accidentally walked into the first years dormitory and after a first awkward encounter with a bunch of very sleepy 11 year olds and a lot of apologies she headed to her own dormitory.

Ginny collapsed on her bed the second she reached it and fell asleep instantly. She slept through a dreamless night of deep sleep not waking up until after everyone in her dormitory.

The next morning was a Saturday, finally a Weekend. Free from her classes Ginny decided to go down and visit Hagrid right after breakfast and then find Luna.

As soon as she had finished her porridge Ginny got up and began waking down the path to Hagrid's. The air was clear and there were no clouds in the sky. Ginny found herself skipping down the cobblestone path feeling like a little butterfly amongst the tall grass.

Ginny reached Hagrid's hut and knocked on the door. Harris the half giant opened the door and smiled down at Ginny.

"Ello down there. Come to have a nice cupa tea with me on your weekend eh?"

"Yeah" said Ginny momentarily distracted by a crow flying overhead. "I actually needed to talk to you about something Hagrid, something important"

"Well o' course just come on in, 'Arry, Ron an 'ermine are here as well.

Ginny followed Hagrid into the second room of his hut where the trio were seated around the table. Ron looked just about as displeased to her see Ginny as she was to see him, but Hermione broke into a smile and said "Oh what a lovely surprise, do have a sit and drink some of this amazing tea Ginny"

Harry and Ron death stared Hermione and Ginny noticed her elbow Harry before gesturing to Ginny the seat next to her.

Much as it was lovely to see her friends, Ginny had been planning on coming out to Hagrid and that wasn't really an option now. It wasn't that they were homophobic she had just wanted it tell Hagrid first because she felt her would really understand and that he would never tell a soul.

Hagrid brought a large plate of little very stale looking pumpkin pasties to the table, set them down and then took a seat making the whole house shake.

He looked at Ginny "So what was it yer wanted to tell me again?"

"uh n..nothing" stuttered Ginny "don't worry about it"

"ok then" said Hagrid and Ginny saw Hermione and Harry share a look. An awakes air filled the room and Ginny took a pasty from the platter in the middle of the table and bit into it.

The pasty was as hard as rock and Ginny tried to bite it but fearing she would break her teeth decide to suck on it until there was a slight chance of chewing it.

Hagrid looked back and forth at the four of them and then sending the tension turned to Hermione, Harry, and Ron. "Well isn't it 'bout time yer three had better be off?"

"Yeah of course" Said Hermione way too quickly

"We'll be off then I guess" said Harry and with that the tree of them left leaving Ginny and Hagrid sitting at the abonormally large table.

Hagrid looked expectedly at Ginny and she felt her mouth go dry. She had felt so prepared but now that she was in the moment she couldn't tell him. She opened her mouth to speak but nothing came out. What was wrong with her? Why wouldn't her mouth speak?

Eventually after a lot of steady breathing she opened her mouth and said it before collapsing into a large hug from Hagrid. He told her how happy he way she had trusted to tell him and how much he cared about her and Ginny hadn't felt happier in months.

As she walked back up the path to the castle in time for lunch lunch she felt herself grinning but closed her mouth as soon as she reached the building. She didn't want umbridge assuming she was up to something.
