Before I could do anything else, the other Autobots came out of the trees, aiming at Megatron and Starscream. "RJ, Sam, get out of here!" Ratchet ordered. I felt Sam's arms around me, trying to pull me out of the area. But I wouldn't leave. "The Decepticons had hell to pay. No!" I shouted, fighting against Sam. "No! I'm going to kill him! I'm going to kill him!" Sam, surprisingly, was able to keep a hold on me. "RJ! We need to get out of here!" he said. "Optimus' last words were for us to protect you, RJ, and I'm not going to disobey them! So, let's move!" Ironhide said to me and that stunned me enough for me to stop fighting. Sam was able to tug me away, towards Sideswipe. Sideswipe opened the doors, and Sam pushed me into the backseat before getting himself in Bumblebee. Mikaela and Leo were already in there. "What happened?" Leo asked instantly as Bee, Sideswipe, Sunstreaker, Skids, and Mudflap took off.

I curled up in a ball in the corner and started sobbing. I pulled out my phone and pressed number 2 on my speed dial. Will and Epps. Tears still flowed freely down my face, but I knew that I needed to tell him. "This is Lennox," he said. I assumed that he was in a helicopter because of the noise. He had also probably connected his phone to his earpiece, because he didn't know that it was her calling. "Optimus died protecting Sam and I," I said to him as I told him what happened. "RJ, are you okay?" Sam asked through the radio for what seemed like the thousandth time. I ignored him, like I had been doing, and stayed curled up in a corner. A few hours ago, they had reached a safe location (only Bee, Sideswipe, Sunstreaker, Skids, and Mudflap knew exactly where they were). I had instantly hidden in my corner and refused to talk to anyone, but Sides and Sunny.

Sam P.O.V. Mikaela and I were trying to comfort her while Leo wandered off somewhere. I didn't care about Leo right now; my main concern was RJ. She had just watched Optimus die for her. That couldn't be something that anyone, even someone as tough as RJ, could get over easily. Sam could tell already that this was going to be worse than when her mother had been dead before meeting her- he had seen how close she was to Optimus. Even though Sam wasn't the one who had been the child of the Prime (that would have been kind of awkward, to say the least), he could hardly imagine life without Optimus being there to protect humanity and lead the Autobots. He couldn't even begin to comprehend what I was probably feeling right now. Like Mikaela had said on the first day that they had met the Autobots, Sam had never had to give up anything in his short life.

RJ P.O.V. "Fine. If you don't want to talk to me, fine. Just remember that I'll be here if you need to get it off your chest, alright?" Sam sighed as he stood up and was about to leave the room when I spoke. "This is all my fault. If I had just been more alert, or if I had made sure that you were safe, this wouldn't have happened." I told him quietly as I sat there. "Hey, don't say that," he said. "If anything, this is all my fault. If I had told you guys about the symbols in my head that the Decepticons wanted, I probably would have been toted off to base and kept safe there." Sam continued. "You mean the symbols; I also been seeing?" I asked from beside Sunstreaker and Sideswipe's holoforms hugging me. "I don't know, but I think they're Cybertronian, I wrote them when I had a mental breakdown in class and tried to prove Einstein wrong." he answered and I frowned. "Show me," I ordered, pulling out my knife hidden in my boot. I tossed it to Sam, who stuck it in the dirt and started carving.

After a while, he sat back on his heels and showed it to me. I frown instantly deepened and knew only a few of them thanks to Optimus and Ratchet. "I was learning Cybertronian before all this happened, but this stuff is beyond me. But I only know a few symbols." I said to Sam. "Enough to piece together what the others mean?" Mikaela asked hopefully. I had been sitting silently for the last few minutes, and for a second it seemed like I had forgotten about her. "Only one or two, This one means 'dawn', this one means 'tip', this one means 'kings'... That's all I know." I answered. I sighed and curled back up in a ball, interest in the subject lost. "Now I wish that I paid more attention to my lessons when I had the chance. I wish I had done a lot of more things when I had the chance. But you're right. These symbols are obviously important to the Decepticons if they were going to kill us to get them. If you told us sooner, this probably wouldn't have happened." I continued as I turned to Sam. Sam looked down to the ground probably thinking of something.
