Don't wake up 3 minutes before your class starts. Just, don't. I recommend waking up at least half an hour before, if not earlier. Why, you ask? It's simple. So you can be ready for school.
Now, what do you need to be ready for? That's a good question. Let me show you how my mornings typically go on an online school day:
7:40 : My alarm clock goes off. I wake up. Sometimes it takes me a few minutes to actually get out of bed, so I'll set this as 5 minutes.
7:45 : I go to the bathroom and brush my teeth.
7:50 : Eat breakfast. Usually a bagel with cream cheese.
8:00 : I go to my room and organize my desk, making sure I have everything I need for the day. If I realize I left something in another room, I go and get it.
8:05 : I check my planner Google classroom to make sure I've done all assignments due for the day.
8:10 : I usually have a bit of free time, so I check Wattpad and Google chats with my friends.
8:20 : 1st hour starts, and I start the day!
Well, that might not be my current schedule, but I'm working on it. If I did that every morning, I would be so organized! If you find yourself struggling with organization, write a morning schedule of how you wish your mornings could go, and slowly try to achieve it!
Even though my day isn't quite as planned out as I wrote above, I'm making it a goal to use a daily schedule like that.
I actually have a little story to tell you guys about this. I thought I was so ready for school this morning, but when our English teacher (my first class) was telling us the homework, I realized I didn't know where my planner was! Since I had to keep my camera on, I couldn't go look for it. I ended up having to use a post-it as a planner, which works, but isn't ideal. This situation could have been avoided if only I had made sure I had all my materials ready for school before the day started.
If you don't know the importance of a planner, go read my planners chapter in this book.
Now, you may be thinking, I don't need to do this, I already have everything I need for school right where I need it.
And maybe you're right. Maybe you already have a system that works for you, but I still recommend checking to make sure you have all of your materials before the day starts.
Hope this helped! Do you have any other questions or advice about being ready for school? Maybe a funny story? Let me know in the comments!
