Chapter 8; *Insert Keysmash*

Sero was freaking out, at least just on the inside, and maybe on the outside too-- Why? Well it was a text that he had received around midnight after her passed out, teenage need to be distracted by the phone you know, that had him all freaked out. A simple text that read;

'Hey maybe we should get some dinner sometime soon! :)'

He didn't know why he was freaking out so much, like it wasn't like it was a date... Was it? Oh damnit, she just asked to hang out and grab dinner. Nothing more nothing less, it there wasn't even a flirty pick-up line that came before it. He didn't even know why this had him so flustered anyways, they're just friends having only met a day or two.

The response was probably what had him most worried, he didn't want to come off too strong but also didn't want to be too distant either. Girls would read into anything and everything, he knew enough from how Mina sometimes responds to Denki in the group chat. 

Then again Denki is an outlier to most, not that he doesn't fit in, just that he has probably the worst or most cheesy responses to somethings, so... Yeah his best friend wasn't a fair comparison, but the point still stands. 

With a sigh Sero finished buttoning up his undershirt when his phone did the little chime stating he received a text message. He pressed the power button on the side to check who sent it figuring it was only Mina telling him to hurry up so they could eat some breakfast together and then head out for class. What he wasn't expecting was to see another text from you. 

'Cute Snack Girl: I was thinking this place would be fun lmao, respond when you can lol cause... select to read'

Sero blinked in surprise, he was not expecting this. Well he grabbed his bag and blazer to head down to eat with his friends and ask Mina for some advice about this, she would have some insight wouldn't she? At least he hoped she did. 

"Oh you want more advice about talking to girls, lemme see!" Mina said in her chipper tone reaching out her hands for his phone. 

So Sero did, after opening his phone after all, he pushed the rice in his bowl a little as Mina silently read over his messages, not at she was reading much.... At least he hoped she wasn't reading back that far- 

"How come you haven't responded and made her panic and double text?" Mina asked handing the phone back to him 

"I um... I didn't know how to respond.." Sero mumbled rereading over the most recent text 

'I was thinking this place would be fun lmao, respond when you can lol cause I need to tell my grandma not to expect me for dinner.'

She had also sent a picture of what looked like a nice cute cat cafe a short train ride away. She had even sent a photo of her favorite cat that was on the webpage. A fluffy little black and white thing with big blue eyes and wittle paws. 

"Well do you want to go to dinner and hang out with her again?" Mina asked humming warmly

"Well..." Sero drawled slowly unsure how to respond at the moment, "I'm allergic to cats...."

Mina jerked a little in surprise before she started to laugh causing a bright red hue to flush his cheeks, "I mean I do have some medication to suppress it and it's only mild--" He stammer trying to justify it 

"Oh-oh Sero... Just tell her you're willing to hang out but maybe not there because of your allergy then talk about where to go." Mina stated shaking her head as she looked back to her eggs 

"Yeah..." Sero chuckled a little shaking his head a little trying to clear it from the warm blush that was burned into his cheeks before turning to his phone and starting his message.

'Sure! That place looks good, say 6:30?' 

Scratchy skin and stuffy nose here he comes, but hey! It's worth it, he gets to hang out with a cute girl after all.
