Everyone was afraid of me, of what I had become.

By the time I was eleven, I had killed ten people, four of which were pedophiles who wanted to take me from my father and the others were just annoying assholes who tried to fight me and ended up dead.

It was when I was eleven and a half that I realised that killing people was wrong. I knew they were bad but they were still humans, and they deserved to live a full life, to have a chance to change.

I never gave them that chance. Even though I had only killed ten people and most of them were very bad people who deserved to die, I still felt really guilty.

I didn't feel at home anymore with my father and Niall. Niall has been nothing but good to me but he was a criminal too. I knew better than this and I had to be better than them.

I wanted to leave this place and live a normal life.

I wanted to see my mum and step-father again. Just one last time.

I could take care of myself just fine. Niall only bought me things and tutored me, but I could cook and clean by myself.

So I came up with a plan to escape this hell hole for good.

***

The plan was not simple at all.

My father's mansion was guarded with way too many guards and there was only one way to escape.

The front door would be too obvious, and the back door didn't have a way to the front, so I had no choice but to have to use my bedroom window.

I knew what I was doing could most likely get me into a lot of trouble but it's not like the people on the street knew my real name.

They knew me as Lya Dagger. I was going to use my birth name, Lyanna Jones. Sure it sounded similar but when I used to go to school before my father had taken me, they'd call me 'Anna' for short instead of 'Lya'.

One night, after Niall tucked me into bed, I waited a couple minutes before tuning in my ears to hear any sound.

One of the first rules I learned from training with my father is that even if you lose your sense of sight, you will always have your ears. Hearing is one of the most important things to do when you are a part of an illegal organisation.

You need to listen to the sounds surrounding you then make your moves.

After hearing that no one was outside my door and making sure that Niall was in his room, I began to get ready.

I packed a couple clothes, my teddy and my knives. Yes, over the years, I got more knives from my father and they were different types of knives.

If you asked me to, I could hurt you really badly with a butter knife. But I would never do it unless it was for self defense, or at least back then I wouldn't.

After packing my stuff, including some jewels, which were important to me, I wore a black suit and grabbed my mask, making sure my hair was tied up in a bun, slipping out the window.

Standing on top of the roof with my bag on my shoulders and my mask on my forehead, I took in the fresh air of freedom.

This was my chance. My chance for a normal life. My chance at freedom.

I walked quietly on the roof, making sure to not make any noise that'll wake up anyone.

There were guards surrounding the perimeter. Thank God the light wasn't that bright, making the mansion look very dark and camouflaged into the night.

Sliding down one of the pillars, I lost my grip and fell onto the floor with a thud. That wasn't good. Luckily, the area was dark and no one looked my way.

I had one more thing to do before I actually left the mansion, that was to get enough money to last me at least a year.

I quickly ran into the mansion using the front door. No one understood what I was doing so they left me walking freely around the house. I was the daughter of a huge crime boss who killed people without hesitation. They were all afraid of me.

I slipped into my father's office and when I saw there was no one there, I went through all his drawers looking for the money he had gotten to pay for the shipment that week. That money was enough to last me a lifetime if I didn't waste it.

In his bottom drawer, I found a package. It was mildly heavy and most likely full of money. I cut it open with one of my knives and saw the amount of money in the package.

There was too much money in fact. I wondered what type of shipment he was ordering that costed this much money, but then again, my father would always pay extra because the men would always want me as payment.

I slipped out the window, making sure there was no one looking at me.

Once again, I fell with a thud. For some reason, I was very clumsy that day.

The guards stared at me. When they saw the bag of money, they chased me.

Sirens began going off and guards started running towards me. I jumped up and slid on my mask to hide my features. Too bad everyone already knew what my mask looked like-

Everyone knew exactly who I was. The daughter of Dagger. A Mafia Princess.

I ran.

I ran and ran into the woods, looking back ever so briefly to see who was after me. Good thing Niall did a lot of running training with me.

I didn't stop running until I met the road at the end of the forest.

I was huffing and puffing. Taking one more look behind me, I began walking once again.

There was no one behind me, and I was deemed free.

That was the beginning of my life as a normal school girl.
