~(Y/N)'s POV~

Today was it. The day I marry my best friend. It's every girl's dream to marry their best friend, especially if they've shown you nothing less than the respect, love, and understanding you so fully deserve. L was waiting on me in the next room over. I smiled bringing back memories of the proposal. The fancy car, the photo shoot, the makeup artists, the fancy dinner with champagne to celebrate, it was all so luxurious, too luxurious for me even. L even told me to pick my favorite dress, no budget, no worries. Oh, how I love that man. I loved his way of sitting, his thought process, and the way he planned everything, letting me be surprised along the way.

"(Y/N), dear, L is waiting. You've got five more minutes." My mother said entering the room and collecting my things. I gathered my composure, took slow, steady breaths, and smiled happily. I will admit I was really upset about my father passing away, not being here to walk me down the aisle. But Watari, being the gentleman he is, offered to walk me to which I said yes. "You look so beautiful soon-to-be Mrs. Lawliet." Watari smiled graciously, tearing up a little bit. "Aw, Watari, please don't cry. I will cry and ruin my makeup." I said feeling tears stinging my eyes.

"Are you ready?" Watari asked me calmly. After a few more slow, calm breaths, I responded by nodding my head 'yes'. As soon as I heard my favorite love song, Die A Happy Man by Thomas Rhett and Tori Kelly, come on I was ready. Slow and steady steps lead me closer and closer to the man I loved, looking rather dashing all dressed up in a suit and tie. I will admit I was never one to buy into that Twilight wedding song. I mean, it was indeed a lovely song to a lovely wedding, but I loved the songs Thomas Rhett always made. They were my favorite, especially this one.

~L's POV~

There she is. The love of my life in an absolutely dazzling dress. I smiled at the sight of her, feeling tears sting at the back of my eyes. I couldn't wait for her to be my wife. Oh, the memories we will make.

~(Y/N)'s POV~

I was soon torn from my thoughts as L greeted me with tear-filled eyes, taking my hands in his. "You look absolutely beautiful, (Y/N) Lawliet. I can't wait. Just a few more minutes and you'll be my beautiful wife." L smiled brightly. I smiled as my grandfather was officiating the service, continuing on about being brought together as one. I was beyond ready for that, as it was my life goal. "(Y/N), are you ready to cite your vows?" My grandfather smiled as he looked at me. "Yes," I said before clearing my throat. "L, with this hand I will lift your sorrows. Your cup will never empty, for I will be your wine. With this candle, I will light your way in darkness. With this ring, I ask you to be mine." I finish, smiling brightly at my borrowed vows from our favorite movie The Corpse Bride, taking L's hand and slipping on his wedding band.

"Now, L, are you ready to cite your vows?" My grandfather turned to him. He soon nodded yes before clearing his throat and smiling, "(Y/N), you are my best friend, my superhero, my one and only. I knew I was going to love you the day I first met you. I know I was very awkward about love at first, had I not felt it before, but you showed me how. You are my sunlight, my world, my universe, my guiding star, my great escape from reality. You are my everything, I will do everything to protect you, to make you mine forever, as you are my only weakness. You make me strong when I am not. You are truly a blessing in disguise, and I can't thank you enough for everything you've done for me. I will love you always." L finished, slipping on my wedding band, smiling as happy tears ran down his pale cheeks.

Silence filled the room as my grandfather asked the question that would bond us forever, "L, do you take (Y/N) to be your lawfully wedded wife?" "I do." L smiled as he squeezed my hands. "(Y/N), do you take L to be your lawfully wedded husband?" My grandfather smiled. "I do." I smiled back. "I now pronounce you as husband and wife. L, you may now kiss your bride." my grandfather smiled brightly, knowing I was happy. I smiled as I wrapped my arms around L's neck, kissing him on his sweet-tasting, full lips. He soon pulled away, hugging me tightly as he kissed my shoulder.

~3 Weeks Later~

It has been three weeks since L and I got married, and I have been feeling rather unusual lately. I soon start to panic and feel tears prick my eyes as I excuse myself from the room and head to the store to pick up the one thing that I knew I needed most: pregnancy tests. I get to the store as quickly as I can, using L's emergency card he gave me, I buy five of their most expensive pregnancy tests. I draw in a deep breath and sigh, walking to the front counter and purchasing my items. I could hear the cashier and two younger girls laughing and that's what gets my blood boiling. But knowing how L would feel, I bit my tongue and held my composure, grabbing my bag, and walking out.

Once I got home I made a beeline straight for the bathroom, ignoring L's calls from his office. Unboxing all the tests, I bring out a small disposable cup and fill it with urine, soon dipping every stick in and waiting for a few minutes. After I knew the time was up, I looked at all five tests, feeling the color drain from my face. I soon jump as I hear a knock at the bathroom door. "(Y/N), my dear, what's wrong? You're usually never in the bathroom this long." L's semi-monotonous voice sounds from the other side. I swallow a lump of fear and unlock the door.

Once L steps in, he notices each pregnancy test and looks at me. "(Y-Y/N)? Are you...? Are we gonna be...?" L said, a hint of an unknown emotion in his voice. I close my eyes and let a few tears slip, nodding my head slowly. L soon hugs me tight and peppers my neck with kisses. "I am so happy, honey! I know I'm still learning to show it, but I am very happy. Please don't cry, what's wrong?" L asks as he lifts my head, wiping my tears with the soft pads of his thumbs. "I-I'm s-scared." I stutter as I grip his shoulders and sob. "It will be fine, my love. We will get through this together. It's how it always had been, and how it always will be. I promised forever, didn't I?" L smiled as he kissed away my tears. "Mhm." I hum into his shoulder, feeling him rock me back and forth carefully, swaying with me, finding the best way to comfort me.

"Watari, please make sure (Y/N) is very well taken care of. I don't want to lose my first child, I want a medic on call when we need them and whatever snacks she needs most." L said as Watari complied, calling a local OB/GYN and adding me to their list. Soon after Watari added me to the patient list, L picked me up bridal style, carrying me to our shared bedroom before grabbing his laptop and working on his current case while keeping an eye on me as I slept soundly with my head buried in his side.

~37 Weeks Later~

After nine long, painful, and hard months, I had finally given birth to our beautiful daughter Aika Ren Lawliet. I smiled at her beauty, slowly falling asleep as L held her and cried at the sight of her. L held her close and cried at how beautiful she was, kissing her head full of sleek black hair which she gets from her daddy. "Look, mommy is awake Aika. Mommy would love to see you I bet." L smiled as he looked at me, soon seeing his fellow members of the task force, minus Light Yagami, surrounding us and holding Aika. "She's beautiful, (Y/N). I am so happy for you and L." Matsuda smiled as he held Aika, quietly cooing at her. Not long after we saw everyone, Aika and I were discharged and taken home.

"Now, (Y/N), you're going home and resting. Watari and I will take care of Aika while you rest, no exceptions. I expect you to get as much rest as you need and follow the doctor's orders by getting back to being healthy." L said as he kissed my forehead. "Yes, honey. I promise you I will." I smile, not even trying to disagree with my beloved husband, as that was a battle I knew all too well that I was going to lose. Laying my head on L's shoulder, I soon slipped into a deep sleep, feeling one last kiss on my forehead as I let sleep take over me.
