Chapter 39

Cady

"Cady!" I heard while going down the stairs. "What?" I replied. "Dad is on the phone," I sighed and stopped midway on the stairs. "He wants to speak to you." Mayla continued. "Don't want to talk, tell him I'm not here."

"But Cady-" I sighed and she stopped talking. "Okay fine, I'll tell him your not here." She mumbled and walked away. Walking the remainder of the stairs, I decided it was best to not let anyone in anything I'm doing, apart from Mayla, since she is my younger sister. And plus she is the only person I know well. So yah. "He says that he knows your home Cady." I sighed in fustration and got the phone from Mayla extended arm. "Why does he have to be so difficult?" I complained. Mayla shrugged and walked off. "What?!" I spoke rudely down the phone. "Is that anyway to greet your dad Cady?" I'm asuming that he was snickering on the other side of the phone. "What do you want Wilmer?" I sighed again. You know what really annoys me, is the fact that he has the right to rule my life. If my mom was still alive I wouldn't have to live in this foster home. "I just want to say hi, that's all."

"Wilmer? Do me a favor? Shut up!" I yelled down the phone to him and hung up. No one has time to talk to this waste of a man.

"Mayla? Next time he calls, don't answer, okay?" She nodded and continued eating her toast. "I'm out!" I shouted and threw up a peace sign.

Daniella

"Mom?" She turned her face from the twins and focused on me. "Who's coming again?" I asked for the millionth time today. She giggled lightly and removed my finger from my mouth. "Don't worry princess, it will only be people you know, okay. Stop biting your nails or you won't have none left." She kissed my forehead and hugged me.

"Love you babygirl." She whispered in my hair. "Love you too mom."

"I don't want to do this." I told Sofia nervously. "Oh don't be such a wuss Daniella." Taken aback, I sat there in disbelief. "W-What?" I blinked rapidly. "Don't be such a wuss! What's a small family reunion going to do to you? Huh?!" She screamed.

"Don't speak to me like that Sof! You know I don't handle these things that well." She chuckled mockingly. "Well maybe you should grow up a bit more!"

"It's not my fault that I didn't-"

"Shut up! Just shut up! You never want to take the blame for anything Daniella! I wish I never knew you!" I laughed at her. "So you prefer to be killed by those monsters than meet me?! Wow! Just wow!" She grimaced. "It would sure be better!" She spat insensitively. Before I knew what was happening, I slapped her. I slapped my own sister. She took a few steps away looking at me as if I was a monster. Ah but am I not? I laid hands on my younger sister. "Y-You didn't just-" She would of finished if she hadn't ran off.

It's all my fault.

Sofia

Running away helps you know. Sometimes you just have to,well, run away. Ain't no question about where your going.You just go. So that's what I'm doing now. I'm running. It seems better since I can't feel the pain on my cheek. "Hey watch it freak!" I fell back on my butt as a girl towered over me. Groaning, I stood back up as the crisp air hit my cheek making it twice as much painful as before.

"Who are you?" She asked. I stared at her intently. "Hello, I asked you a question." She spoke waving her hand in my face.

"Oh I'm Sofia." She looks familiar. "Oh nice I'm Cady ." I nodded and she diverted her eyes to my cheek. "What's that?" Shuffling nervously, I stuttered. "Ermm i-ignore that." She grinned. "I'm clearly not going to. What happened?" She asked while examining it. "M-My half sister slapped me."

"Bhahahahahahaha! Wooo!" She laughed. "Oh wow! Why didn't you hit her back?!" I shrugged. What's with this weirdo? "Okay, I don't really know you, and plus you look younger than me. So bye before I get arrested." I was about to walk away until she pulled me back. "Wait! Let's play 21 questions. Then we'll know each other more." I looked at her as if she was crazy.

"Cmon, I'm bored." She pleaded. "Okay fine!" I gave in and sat on the sidewalk. "Okay I start." She positioned herself next to me and spoke. "What's your full name?" I sighed. "Sofia Anabelle Rivera. Yours?"

She stayed silent. Stunned even. "Hey what's up?" I asked gently. "Y-You...Cady Bethany Rivera. My name is-"

"Cady? My Cady?" Omg. I've found her. "I-I can't believe it, its you!" Tears escaped happily from both our eyes. "I-I thought it wasn't you S-Sof , I almost gave up." She hugged me hard and I returned the favour. "Its me Cady don't worry. It's me."

So there we swore to each other that we would never leave each other alone again. This time we mean it.
