PoV Stella

Luckily for me my neighbor was talking to the Italian mobster, who was watching me today. She was a tall blonde with big boobs and a gorgeous smile, and I could not blame the guy for not paying attention to anything else. I was instead happy with the situation and hoped that I would be able to sneak back into the building without him noticing me. But that would be my problem later. First, I had to get my stuff. Then I would hopefully find my daughter, who should not have been taken from me in the first place. That bastard who took her, better prayed to God that he had done it only for her protection. But if I found out that he had more sinister motives, even that fairy-pixie in the sky would not save him.

Grumbling I walked to the nearby shopping center. Fine, they got me a nice apartment, all shops and a couple of restaurants were close by, but I refused to be grateful. Why should I thank anyone who had abducted my child? Yeah, right.

Making sure that nobody followed me, I slid into the small lingerie store. Then I walked to the back where the employees had their lockers. I put the first part of the number I got from Josh into the small box at the door. I slid through and went to the common room. The middle number was the compartment meant for me. I opened it with the last few numbers and grabbed the sheet inside. A prepaid smartphone waited there as well. I grinned. Josh was really a good and a smart guy.

How can I help you this time? And why isn't the little one with you? What did happen?

I wrote an answer on a second sheet and put it back into the locker. I then flipped the phone on. The pin was attached with a small post-it. Perfect. I repeated it in my mind for a couple of times, then I shredded the little piece of paper into even smaller pieces.

"Hey sweetheart. Josh told me you would come here to get some stuff." A tall handsome guy with a brown undercut and chocolate brown eyes hugged me. Adrian. He and Josh were a couple. I sighed. Not because of their relationship, but because I had to tell him now the whole story. The shop was his, hence Josh and I had used the locker room of the employees a few times before to send each other little messages since I had come to Milwaukee.

"I got attacked, went into a coma and when I woke up, my stuff was moved to a different apartment and Isabella had disappeared." I rattled the text down quickly, but I could feel my eyes fill with tear fluid again.

"Oh sweety." Adrian's hug became even tighter. "We will find her, I promise."

I nodded, knowing that both men would do everything to help me. After getting away from my fucked-up home situation, which ended with me faking my own death, I had moved to a different town with them. They helped me through my pregnancy. We parted ways a few days after my daughter's first birthday. They moved right away to Milwaukee, while I had been hiding here and there. Until now my tactics had always worked.

"So, do you know who took her?" He raised his eyebrows.

"The most powerful mafia boss of this state. He is also my new landlord, by the way. And one of his employees has the order to keep an eye on me. Although he is not that successful today," I smirked, thinking about the mobster and my blonde neighbor.

"You sneaked out of the building, I guess." Adrian looked at me, then sighed. "We should get you a wig and maybe sunglasses."

"A wig and sunglasses what for?" A female voice chimed in from behind us. We turned around.

"Hi Debs. My dear friend Stella has to hide from a stalker, and we think about possibilities to make her unrecognizable." Josh's boyfriend could lie without turning red like a tomato. That was impressive, for an ordinary person. But Josh, Adrian and I were not ordinary people. All of us were damaged and quite crazy. That was another reason why I was convinced that we would get my daughter back.
