Chapter : 27

Before , the last chapter .

Walking through the halls of the office , Marco felt the tension inside the room, like something had been going on . Whispers around the room confirmed his suspicious. He noticed his girlfriend in the near corner of the room talking with her friend . He approached her calmly .
" hey ! What's going on ?" He questioned , confused .
"Didn't you hear babe ? Miss butterfly isn't at work ."

Marco was surprised , Star was never late or missed a day or work . She was the workhorse in the company and everyone knew that . Even when she was sick she never missed a day of work . The brunette knew the exact reason why she wasn't at work but he wouldn't open his mouth about it .

He definitely felt bad about the things he said to her , especially because it wasn't all truth . He didn't love her the way he thought any more but he would never stop caring about her and that was a something he couldn't control , more out of instinct. But on the other hand he had to be honest with her . He couldn't lie to her seeing as that wouldn't Slove anything .

Stars quickly pulled up to the apartment complex and made her way towards the elavator . Going up the building she could feel her heart beat faster and faster with each passing second . As she reached her destination she found the apartment she knew he would be at . Jacob .

A few days poire , before she went to Marco :

Knocking on the door she felt his presence on the other side , and she was right . He opened the door in his work pants and it seemed to be that he was in the middle of getting underdressed as his blouse was halfway undone . At the sight of her , he smirked looking at his attire . She was wearing her coat over her body and underneath she still had her work cloths on . She rolled her eyes in disgust at his reaction .

" what do you want , Miss butterfly ?" He questioned his voice low as if he had had a glass of whiskey or two .
"You.." she said in a low husky voice .
She forced herself onto him . Kissing her way into the apartment , kicking the door with her foot to close it .

Truthfully she didn't want him or  like him in that way but she needed to do this so she could get enough evidence for her bosses that he was in relationships with co-workers , especially a female boss . What he wanted more than anything was to get that promotion and finally be on top of stars position so his father could fire star and ruin her career . However what Jacob didn't know that soon enough he would fall into a trap . Her plan .

" do you love me ?" She questioned . Releasing her lips from his as they stumbled into the bedroom and Star was on top of him , straddling him .
"Of course.. that why your my girlfriend..."
" correction... was.." she said forcing herself off of him .
As she started fiddling with her coat he sat upright on the bed , confused .
"Huh ?" He questioned . It wasn't until he noticed that she had pulled out her phone showing that she had been recording their short conversation that he knew what she was up too . She watched as his face turned from confused to worried .
" that's right , now I have everything on you , how does that feel ?"
He laughed , she knew his laugh and most certainly that wasn't a good laugh , he had something in mind he always had .
" you really think this will effect me ? You've just done everything you shouldn't have done." He said with a smirk .
" w-what do you mean ?" She questioned , a little worried .
" you may get me fired Star , very true but in the end who really wins ? You think you've won , you get to keep your job , you never have to worry about my dad and I as we are fired , your probably gonna get that huge promotion that will put you at the top of this company and finally accomplish your dreams of being the first female ceo of this company but who are you gonna share all that with ? In the end Star..." he said walking over to her .
" you've lost the thing that you hold the most nearest and dearest to your heart..Marco." He said whispering his name into her ear .
" No ! He still loves me and I'm gonna get him back as soon as I'm done reporting you !" She said shoving him away from her .
" putting your job in front of your boyfriend once again ? Maybe this is why you will never get him back, love ." He stated .
" that's not true ! I did this because I-" 
" because your job mattered more than him. Face it , if you didn't break up with him , he would've done it sooner or later ."
" He loves me , he would never do that to me."
" loved , past tense . Besides you already did it for him. Do you really think he will still ever love you after what you've done ?" He stated and she could feel his eyes pearicing through her , everything he was saying was true , he had this power of agruements over her that she couldn't disagree with .

She stood there watching as he made a walk around the room , taking a moment to look out the window , picking up a shirt to put it on him and his body slowly finding a way behind her . She could feel his breathe on her neck while his arms found a way around her body .
" however..if you say with me ,we can have it all , power , fame , money . Everything you've ever wanted . All you have to do is not to let this slip..." he whispered into her ear sending chills down her spine .

He had such a strong point , money , fame and power was her career goal and to finally reach it is a dream come true . But Marco.. that was the man she loved not Jacob . Marco was the one who pushed her when things got rough , was there for everything , through thick and thin. To her , he truly deserved everything she had gotten , if not more .
