Okay, so let's get a few things straight before I continue. Sure, I'm used to giving evil villain speeches, but right now I need you to know about a few things.
Did I like hurting people? Being the reason they mourned and screamed and wanted revenge?
Yes, I enjoyed that part very much.
Did I like messing with the heroes? Causing them to make the hardest decisions and go insane?
One of the best parts of the job.
Lying to my boyfriend about where I was going? Abandoning him because duty calls?Yeah, never really liked that part of the job.
I sighed as I unlocked the door into our apartment, me being the only girl. I loved with my boyfriend and his two close friends Frank and Leo.
There was something about Percy that had always been familiar, like I had known him for years. I had that feeling even when we first met, a year ago.
"Fine, fine. Bye Ash," my boyfriend said into the phone. I looked at him in confusion. That was the name of a superhero j had countless run ins with.
Percy gave a slight laugh, "old friend, big fan of the superhero so it's our inside joke,"
My boyfriend left the room and went to his own, so after staring after him in question, I sat down on the couch. My phone rang for a moment, and I sighed but picked it up.
"Nice job you did out there today," my coworker said.
"Thanks Shift," I smiled, "I wonder how Riptides doing. Probably bleeding out to this moment,"
"Yeah right," I could almost here shifter roll his eyes. "That's the thing about these heroes, you think they're dead and then they come back. It's aggravating,"
"You're telling me. I've been fighting riptide since I was twelve, when we were only sidekicks to Poseidon and Athena. Oh do I want to punch him. Next time I see him I'm going to kill him, for real,"
I heard Percy laughing, probably talking to Grover on the phone or Leo in real life. I smiled and continued talking to Shift, "I have to go. But I guarantee you next time I see riptide I will kill him,"
"Hey seaweed brain." I walked into my boyfriends room, giving him a smile. Leo was the one in there, talking to him about a stupid friend not telling him something.
"Wise girl!" Percys face lit up. "I know I just saw you and all but still. How are you?"
I sat down on the bed next to him as he wrapped his arm around me. "Good, how about you?" I smiled.
"Good. Hey, where's frank?"
"Our with hazel I think," Leo answered.
The door jingled and I heard two voices walking in. Leo gave a slight laugh, "speak of the devil and he shall appear,"
The three of us laughed. Frank walked in, his arm wrapped around Hazel. "Hey y'all. Oh and Leo, did you ever ask Calypso out?" Hazel asked.
"Not yet. Kind of scared," Leo answered, "did y'all see that fight between Riptide and Secret?"
"Yeah! Riptide got totally smoked though," I said.
"Yeah, but Riptide is so so so much better. He has the coolest powers," Percy rolled his eyes.
The four of us bickered over everything, laughing all the time. It was moments like these that made me sorry for keeping secrets.
But as it turns out, they had their own secrets themselves. My three roommates weren't who I thought they were at all.
My name is Annabeth Chase, but others know me as the supervillain Secret who can turn invisible. For the past year, I have been working to take down an organization called OLYMPUS.
And although I didn't think it could get more crazy, I was in for a whole world of secrets, death, and landlords.
