Confrontation

The photo shoot ends after the next song, the energy is different in the room. I send them both downstairs while I copy over images to work on later.

Yoongi goes to the living room and opens a new bottle of wine, pouring himself a big glass. Taehyung has changed into much more comfortable clothing, and sits across from him on the couch.

"That what you're wearing to the club?" Yoongi asks smirking. Tae stares up at him, studying him. Yoongi gulps his wine, not meeting his stare.

"Hyung?" he asks. Yoongi grunts but doesn't look up from his glass. "I know what's happening," he says calmly. Yoongi shoots him a look of shock mixed with anger, possibly hoping to discourage him from continuing.

"What do you know?" he asks making light of his statement.

"I know that you have feelings for Alexa." He watches as Yoongi pretends to laugh this idea off. "and I know that it's driving you crazy." Yoongi tries to shake his head, still not looking at Taehyung, but he continues, "I know it's making you do things you wouldn't normally do. I see it in the way you are both mean to her and yet still try to be around her." Yoongi has grown quiet and just lets him speak.  "I know this is difficult. Your heart wants something, your head says no."

Yoongi finally looks up at Tae and he stops talking, to measure the effect of his words. Yoongi sighs and looks back down. He knows Taehyung is wise and honest even though he is younger. He finds it difficult to get the words out to explain himself.

"I've never felt this before, I mean, I've never been in love. I don't know if my heart is open to it. I don't know how to understand what I feel," he says. Tae listens quietly. "I feel like I'm older, and I deserve to have this feeling now. I'm so envious of what you have, of how open you are to it, and how easy it is for you to love." Tae reaches out, one hand touching his back, rubbing it sympathetically. Yoongi finally looks up into Taehyung's eyes, searching them for a response.

"I understand how you feel," Tae says. "It's easy to feel carried away. She is special. I think she makes everyone feel happy when they're around her." Yoongi nods, slowly taking in his words. "But you are my brother, and I mean no disrespect to you, but the bond that I have with her is too great to be broken by anyone. It isn't just that our bodies are connected, it's as if we exchanged part of our souls our first moments together, and now, we can't be apart." Yoongi watches him, surprised at how confident and secure he seems. He must have been thinking about this for quite some time.

"So," Taehyung continues, very business like, "when Alexa returns, I'm going to ask her to take you to the club, and I will stay here." Yoongi looks at him confused. "I want you to have this time to share, doing things you both enjoy, and that are meaningful. But, I want you to resist how you feel, and think of me. I want you to choose to stay my brother. And after tonight, I want you to go back to New York and let us spend our last day here alone." Tae watches Yoongi's face for his reaction. "When we come back to New York together, it will be as a stronger couple, and we go on as before." Yoongi sits quietly thinking about what he's said. "But, if you can't resist her, you can't stay away, then, I won't go back to New York." Yoongi's face drops.

"What are you saying?" Yoongi is in shock.

"I'm saying that we will no longer be brothers. So tonight is your test of loyalty. If you can control your feelings, and think of me, then I will know you really can have deep love for someone else because you have shown that love to me."

"And if I fail? You leave the band?!" Tae nods. Yoongi tries to reason this out. "Say I do resist and I go back to New York, then we all go on tour, and I have to see her every day...you don't think this will be an issue then?"
