The New Beginning

Chapter 7

I'm walking up the stairs to his office. I walk into the doorway and he speaks up.

"Hello Alexis"

"Hello"

He turns around and looks at me. I see all of his stuff is being packed up.

"Remus"

"It's alright Alexis, I resigned."

"We need to talk about it"

"What about how you so stupidly saved me. Yes we do, I could have killed you."

"But you didn't"

"You're lucky"

"No I'm right, you didn't kill me because you recognized me. You knew I was the one that you've protected all of these years."

"I hardly remember, if I didn't realize who you were then you I could have killed you."

"There's something else."

"You're mother"

"Yes"

I move in front of him and I smile, I look at him.

"If you were so in love with my mother then why didn't you tell her."

He sits down on the edge of his desk. He frowns but then looks at me.

"You're mother was an incredible woman. She had this spark of adventure and happiness where ever she was. I was on the quidditch team with James and Marcus. The last game of the season for our 3rd year was amazing."

"Remus what happen"

"After the game I was finally going to tell her how I felt. I got to the locker room and that were I heard Marcus tell her how he felt. I watched them kiss and then I ran off. I acted like I was ok when I was around them, Sirius always tried to get me to tell her. She was happy and I didn't want to ruin that."

He grabs my hand and smiles, I look at him with empathy.

"A few years later, you were born. My mother announced that I was to be you're godfather while Marcus said the same about Dumbledore. I was happy but I was scared because I was still in love with you're mother."

"You should have told her, she did love you."

I pull out a note from my pocket. I hand it to him and he looks at me.

"When I had that dream, I went back to the manner and search the place inside and out. I eventually found a few letters addressed to R.L."

He opens the letter and I smile, I grab his arm.

"She did love you, she wanted you to be the one to tell her. She settled for my father because she loved him too. You were the one she wanted, she loves you more."

"Alexis..."

"It's ok, you're my family. I will always love you."

I hug him and he slowly hugs me back, I pull away and look at him.

"Alexis I know about you're connections and you're kiss with draco."

I step back and look at him, he looks at me.

"I was looking for you when I seen you two go into the bathroom. I'm sorry, I was coming to tell you of my condition."

"It's ok, I'm not mad about it. I just need to know who my other connection is, it could be dangerous for both of us."

"What about draco"

"No he kissed me, nothing happen. I admit I liked the kiss but he's an awful person to be around. I've tired being his friend, he doesn't care anymore."
