It was the first thing in the morning, that had to be given my full attention. Of course, preparing my training. Master Yaru has been waiting for me. I panted across the stairs, all the way down. From the gate of the rocky fences, i could see 2 figures already has their eyes landed on mine.

I jogged towards them with an innocent smile painted across my face, i scratched the back of my head "Sorry i'm late", i bent down with both arms on my knees. Catching my breath, i flinched when a hand landed on my head, i grunted in pain.

"Ugh Vale! What was that for?!"

The wind sorcerer smirked and tilted his head, "I don't know, what do you think?". Then Master Yaru furrowed his brows and slapped Vale's head from behind.

"No one can hurt (Y/N)"

My eyes glimmered at his answer, "Master--" then his hand smacked my head "Except for me" he continued. I grunted in pain and annoyance, seem to me my head will get bigger by the day ended.

I groaned in protest and crossed my arms. I looked away when Vale chuckled. Master Yaru shook his head and tighten the held on his staff, he walked off with the two of us behind him.

Master Yaru is a wizard who has been teaching my ability my entire life, he raised me from when i was alone in the streets. He was my mentor and a father figure to me. Although he only raised me because he saw a vision of me holding the Mystic Sword of Syeva.

The sword lies in the deep forest, surrounded by magic even the wizards from the past could not handle. The sword itself stood in a trunk of the Tree of Gismo. The location? No one knows. But Master Yaru always have faith in me that someday, i'll be able to retrieve it.

Vale, was, an annoying brat. He only knew how to cast his magic, having the ability to control wind made him felt superior above me. However, despite the element he can wield, he never stood a chance against me in combat.

One thing made me worry, was the fact Valir always barging inside his thoughts. He always mention Valir that Valir this, but if i had the chance to ask how he was doing. He never answers. He just kept telling the background story of his so called 'brother', i don't even know how a wind sorcerer could be in align their blood with a flame sorcerer.

Vale is an open minded kind of person, but his personality wasn't entirely open. You get the idea. He was friendly, and unpredictable at the same time.

As i was saying, back to the main topic. We are on a mission to hunt down a dragon, which has been terrorizing villages across the country. Their numbers? Not quite sure. All we know is they kept getting birth, yes, the odd are rising. Dragons be at birth and already terrorizing villages?

The cause, is that there were not only Dragons related to the terror.

The population was emerging, baby Dragons were hatched faster and got older in a blink of an eye. We were on the investigation on the odds.

We arrived at the abandoned tower Master Yaru had mentioned, it was deserted. Its structure wasn't fully placed, the window and walls cracked. The cone of its very top broken.

I glanced my eyes from the bottom to the top, only to be interrupted by Vale's winds. It blew my hair and made my eyes blocked. I sniffed at my hair and clicked my tongue.

"Ooo someone's angry"

I glared at him and elbowed his abs, which to be honest was kind of hard as a rock. He moaned in pain, even though a smirk still painted across his face.

"Weak" i rolled my eyes. "Ouch" he flinched, making it sounds like i was too cruel. Therefore it's true. We both jogged towards Master Yaru who was already waiting at the entrance. Though maybe Vale didn't count as jogged. More like floated across.

"I will cover the east ground, you two go up the west side. Careful, the stairs are, crumbly" he stated. The two of us nodded and began our walk. When i opened the the gate, the crackling sound reached my ears. The dust covered the area were blown my the wind from outside.

I looked around, there were human skulls lying around. I raised a brow and looked up, the rocky stairs around the wall. Vale nudged me from the side "Let's race", i spun my head and stiffed my lips "Vale, the stairs are crumbling down".

"Boohoo, the crowds exclaimed. Sounds like an excuse"

I cornered a stare "Oho it's on" i quickly fastened my pace and climbed up the rocky stairs, but when i pun my head to my shoulder to look at Vale behind me, suddenly his body passed from downwards. Making his way up with his magic in the middle.

I furrowed my brows, "Hey! That's cheating!" i exclaimed. He posed his body like he was sunbathing on the beach while i was trying to catch up to him "I never said any rule".

I smirked and put out a scroll underneath my coat, i casted a spell and threw it upwards. Making it glide towards the ceiling, when it reached the top, it opened.

Vale raised a brow and crossed his arms, when he looked up his eyes widened. He quickly dodged something flying down towards him. "Hey! That's dangerous!" he protested.

I let out a chuckle. The scroll contains knifes i've polished. Releasing it making it follows the gravity's direction. Vale kept dodging the knifes which had slow him down. I snickered and was almost at the top, he was 2 stories down.

But then, i didn't realize my next step was a trap. The rock structure slipped away from its support and rumbled over. My foot slipped as my body was failing to balance itself. My heart skipped a beat. Then i could feel the swaying motion from my sight.

"Crap!" i screamed, my body was falling, the only thing coming from me was the very bottom. When my body dashed the wind, suddenly a pair of arms caught me. There was a thud on where i was landing. I looked up to lock my eyes with the figure.

"Jeez you're hopeless.." Vale sighed. My head was leaning on his chest when his arm carried my body. I feel my face tensed up and quickly pushed him back. "L-let me go!" i exclaimed, he raised a brow "You're welcome????" he shook his head and flew back to the stairs. Letting me stand on my feet.

My heart was racing, either from the fall or his catch. When i turned to him, my eyes widened. A knife plucked through his shoulder "Hold still" i reached for his other shoulder and reached for the knife and pulled it out.

He grunted and said "Ugh can't you be more gentle?". I rolled my eyes and climbed up the stairs once more. But then Vale's words caught my attention "Hey where are you going? There was a huge gap you made remember?" i sprinted up and jumped, my body swayed as my hand glided to the edge.

I pulled myself up and smirked while turning back to him, "Yeah, i know". He crossed his arms "Show off" he commented. He flew above me and reached the top first. I followed behind him and looked around the dark lair. Although the hole on top of the cone of the roof made some sunlight strike through.

I scanned the room, it was pretty stiffed with old stuff. Books and fabric. I lifted the fabric off, the dust made me sneezed. Vale approached beside me and sighed, he waved his hand and made his wind blew the dust away.

"Thanks" i smiled, then something caught my attention. It was golden, hidden under the books. I picked it up and admired it, it was a wand. Covered in gold. The edge has a curving. I looked at its bottom, a familiar symbol yet i've never seen it before.

Suddenly a bird flew from beneath and grabbed it, i gasped and stood back. Vale furrowed his brows. The bird carried it down, i peeked my body to see where it went. The bird flew on a figure's shoulder. I widened my eyes in shock. The figure ran away.

"After him!" i exclaimed as Vale caught up behind me.
