"Say it" i pointed out the sharp blade from my weapon, judging its edge to my down opponent. He scoffed, "I concede."
With a satisfied smirk, i put away my blade. Putting them inside its container back. A chuckle was released from afar, making their way slowly towards my present. I spun my head, looking up at the tall figure. "You've done well, (Y/N)."
"Thank you, General" i smiled warmly.
Sweats running down my forehead were considered unbothered. I stepped forward, offering a hand to my fallen partner. Instantly, he smacked away my hand. I lifted a brow as he gets up on his own. I sighed, placing both hands on my hip. "Rude."
"Whatever" he blandly added as he walks away.
Gazing at the decreasing scale of my recent opponent, i crossed my arms. Focused my pupils on his back slowly fading away on the horizon. A hand landed on my shoulder gradually, making my eyes to revert themselves onto the figure beside me. "Don't take it personal, (Y/N). Soldiers are meant to be like that in their young age."
"Or is it because i have never come to a defeat?"
"That, as well" a smirk planted across his face.
It was ultimately a problem i couldn't have ever resolved its fruition. Willingly the people surrounding me had the unfortunate feeling towards myself. I have never done something irrational, nor to exaggerate my talent and skill in combat. But whatever i did, it wasn't enough. Humble was seen in a different perspective from each individuals.
I sighed under my breath, tightened the grip of my crossing arms. Boys are very complicated to understand. Kindness seemed to be irrelevant if it came from my behalf. "Respect needs to be earned. But how am i supposed to do that if they can't even accept me for who i am?"
"You are a diligent student, (Y/N). You can almost accomplish anything. I believe you can also solve this matter by your own hand."
I spun my head to the old aged man, wrinkled a vague smile before stating "Wish me luck, i guess."

The night companied my being as i stare at the sky. Making myself comfortable on my seat, i rested my back on the cold surface of the rooftop. Clung my leg on to the other, i let my both hands be the support of my scalp. It was cold, yet unfittingly desirable. The soothing win breezed my skin like the wave flooded the shore. One of my favorite place to crash in after an intense training each day of my life. Well, what else an orphan was supposed to do?
The monastery has been the family i was forced to have. Not that it was a bad thing. I have never known of my parents presence nor location. Never met them. Never knew their names. The only thing i remembered was waking up inside a tent in the middle of a war between the Moniyan Empire and the Southern Monsters.
General Slokav. The first ever figure to have given me light at my blurring vision that day. I have received a fatal wound throughout my lower body. No one, not even myself knew from where and when it had occurred.
I rested my heavy eyelids, enjoyed the very moment while i could muster them to the fullest.
Months. Only a matter of months would i be off from this place i considered to be home. Reaching adulthood was one of a few things i expected. Some outcome would have greeted me undetected. Only a matter of time would i be choosing my next destiny. To be a demon hunter, or a slave.
Well, calling it a slave would be too, inappropriate.
Of course, whether i am allowed to choose. General Slokav would never, ever, allow me to choose to be a servant to the empire. My talent and skill have swallowed the obvious to its surface. Judging my accusations would be, foolish.
