Staring at her coffee while her mind rushed millions of thoughs, Applejack thought about the pretty girl she saw in the coffee shop.
'Stop it Applejack, you shouldn't be like that. Your family will be disappointed'
Applejack signed and took a sip from her coffee, immediately regretting it because it was still hot. She rested her head on her hand and stared at the floor. That girl was so beautiful! From her curly blue and pink hair, to her sky blue eyes, to her sweet pink lips, to her cinnamon skin, to her-
No.
Stop it.
Applejack had always admired girls. She knew she had crushes on three or four girls while she was still in high school and she knew she found them attractive. She never felt that way about any boy.
No one other than her brother knew that she felt that way, but he wasn't much help. He told her that ''she needs to wait for the right guy'' and her stupid brain trusted him so she waited.
But nothing happened.
She still felt that way about some girls she saw on the street, or in the supermarket, or, in this case, the coffee shop. She knew about gay people. Some of her family members had told her that they're sinful and evil people, or cult. Applejack never saw what's so bad about them but she couldn't argue with her family, she was too scared. When she realized that she was staring at some girls butt in middle school, she broke down. She didn't want to get called sinner by her family. She refused to accept the label 'lesbian'.
Her thoughts were interrupted as a voice spoke near her"I am so sorry for being late darling, Sweetie Belle needed my help for some school project of hers" the figure said and sat in front of Applejack.
"Hey Rarity" Rarity was Applejack's best friend. They planned to meet up today and catch up a little since they haven't seen each other in two weeks.
'Maybe Rarity can give me some advice'
Applejack thought and smiled to herself.
'But what if she thinks I'm a sinner too?'
She shook her head.
'She's your best friend, she'll understand'
She closed her eyes and tried to gain courage, until she felt movement in front of her.
"Hellooo, earth to Applejack?" Rarity was waving her hand in front of Applejack's face "Oh finally, I got scared for a second there dear."
Rarity laughed but her smile quickly dropped as she noticed her friend's expression
"Is something wrong?"
Applejack refused to talk for a second, she didn't want to be hated by her best friend. But at the same time, she knew that Rarity would never hate her and she'll support her no matter what.
'Bullshit,'
'Stop being such a pussy and speak'
"Uhh Rares..can Ah ask you somethin'?" She immediately regretted what she had asked.
"Of course! Go ahead." Rarity said and smiled. Her bright mood made Applejack feel slightly better.
"What's your opinion 'bout..uh, gay people?" Applejack cringed as she asked that. 'I shouldn't have say that'
"Well in my opinion they are completely valid and amazing people! I think that as long as you're a good person and aren't hurting anyone or anything, you're valid! Why'd you ask?" Rarity's reply now definitely made Applejack feel better "I hope you don't have that homophobic spirit in you, it won't suit your kind heart"
