Akron's pov

I could smell the girl that Rose told me Aldrin was keeping. She knew I would probably tell Mother and Father, that's why she did it. But now just listening to Ally and the girl, I could tell he cared for her safety.

Ally has always been this way, he won't hurt a fly. Throw a human into a coven of vampires and he will protect it. I scoff and bang on the door. If I had a weak human body this would hurt me.

I don't hear any footsteps so I slam the door open, my eyes catching Aldrin's before landing on the girl. I feel my blood boil as I glare at her. Just looking at her, I already hate her. She is putting my brother's life in danger.

Mother and Father raised him to be the perfect son, or at least they had tried. The stories I was told claimed that Ally would disobey them.

Now I am their pride and joy. Rosie is a female, they won't let her lead any coven. That is until she finds her mate. She thinks that rule is unfair, but not once has she left us to go find her mate. Ally isn't really interested in his mate either.

Once I'm of age I will go look for my mate as long as it takes. After all she will make me stronger.

The girl's stomach growls rather loudly, pulling me from my thoughts. "All-"

I start to ask my brother to get her some food, but when my eyes focus they are gone. I walk out of the room and into the kitchen. The girl is sitting on a stool near the bar while Al is cooking some eggs and bacon from the smell.

"Hey spoiled brat, want some food or blood?" Ally asks me, using the childish nickname that I despise.

"Don't call me that! Maybe just a little blood," I reply nonchalantly, more to remind the girl that I am a vampire than need.

Ally opens the fridge, grabs a bottle and tosses it towards me. I scoff at his stupidity and carelessness with the glass bottle as I snatch it from the air. I crack it open and sip at the blood. I feel my eyes darken and my fangs extend as I hungrily chug it.

Aldrin laughs and hums softly as he finishes the eggs and bacon. He slides it onto a clean plate and places the pan in the sink before carrying the plate over and setting it in front of the girl.

I lean against the counter watching the girl, my sensitive ears pick up her heart beat and I still as I recognize the sound.

"Ally."

"What, Ronnie?"

"I really need to talk to you."
