MENTIONS OF PARENTAL ABANDONMENT AND SUICIDE, DONT READ IF YOU'RE SENSITIVE TO IT PLEASE
i was honestly just fed up with today, already. we'd gotten some stupid ass assignment from present mic that was due at the end of the week, we did some physical training that made me want to strangle aizawa, and i was just overall done with every-fucking-thing.
kyoka was my only relief from the shithole i'd been in all day, though. throughout our morning classes, she'd shoot me her glorious smile if she figured that i'd gotten out of it. during lunch, she made physical contact with me and held my hand as much as possible while we ate, conversing with the rest of our "bakusquad" table mates. and for our afternoon class of physical bullshit, she stayed at my side the entire time we weren't picked for something or doing training.
all in all, she made the day bearable.
so, when we were all back at the dorms, just hanging around, you can guess what we were doing.
lounging on the couch and watching netflix with some of our other classmates.
iida was adamant that we stop messing around and go get our homework done, but none of us listened to him and he eventually stormed off, upset that we hadn't listened. look, if he's gonna try to order a bunch of tired, exhausted, fed up teenagers around, he needs to rethink his approach to the whole thing.
"hey, rin-chan," tsu calls from behind the other couch, having went to go answer the door because someone had rung the bell or something.
"yeah?" i absentmindedly ask, my arm hanging loosely around kyoka's shoulder as she leans into my side. "aizawa-sensei needs you for something."
looking up at the frog girl, i see our teacher standing a few feet behind her with an exasperated look on his face. nodding, i place a small—not noticeable to anybody else—kiss on her head and then get up, almost groaning at the new lack of warmth. kyoka frowns, probably feeling the same, and i nod at her before following after the quirk nullifying hero.
the man ended up taking me all the way back to campus, and we stopped as we reached the principal's office. i give him a confused look as he opens the door, stepping in and i follow after him.
the first thing i see is principal nezu sitting at his desk, smiling at the two of us as we come in. but then my eyes flit to the side, where i see a man and a younger guy, the former watching my every move with an open mouth.
"ah, sasaki-san, i'm glad you could join us. now, i'm sure you're wondering what it is you're doing here, yes?" the principal says, and i only nod, side-eying the two that were both now watching me. gulping, i turn back to the principal, about to ask what this was about, when the man speaks up.
"oh my god, you really do look just like her."
i freeze.
what the fuck?
who is this bitch and how does he know mom?!
my eyes flit between the principal, aizawa, and the two who were watching me, though the man has tears in his eyes, now. not comfortable with seeing someone i don't know upset like he is, i take another glance at the principal.
"what does he mean by that?"
nezu just smiles softly at me. "sasaki-san, did your mother ever tell you of her family?"
i nod slowly, saying, "yes, but she only mentioned her parents. they kicked her out because she had me."
if we ever meet them, i'm gonna bite their fucking heads off
