I am pure
See how the light transcends my beauty
My aura is bright
My amber edges represent the fire I coax from my spirit daily
It is a reminder that good will inevitably be my portion
My coarse unsettling centre
My darkness
It is laden with my past insecurities
But it is the seeds of my future
Seeding future
Seeding experience
New growth will come from this hiding place
My stem, strong and bristly
It shows what my doubt brought
It brought protection
I will never let it bring my drought
I bring life out of me
I give what I truly am to all that sees me
The light I embody and the darkness I carry
I am the sunflower.
