Firey's POV:
The next Saturday, I was taking a walk around the neighborhood. It was a nice day out and I wanted to enjoy it. While walking, I stumbled upon a giant field of flowers, with some areas shaded with trees. It was on the other side of the weird forest by my house. Apparently I never knew about this until now. It was really pretty and reminded me of Leafy. I then decided to bring Leafy here, for us to hang out together. I walked out of the field and walked to Leafy's door. I knocked and Mrs. Evergreen, Leafy's mother, answered the door. "Oh, hello Firey," she greeted me. I definitely know where Leafy gets her kindness from. Her mother is one of nicest adults I've ever met. When Leafy and I were younger, Mrs. Evergreen would always make cookies or brownies or something like that for us and rent us a movie. When I stayed for dinner, she'd make really delicious food instead of just ordering cheap pizza or something. And I ended up staying for dinner quite often. "Hello Mrs. Evergreen," I greeted her. "Is Leafy here?" "She is, but she's, um," she hesitated. "Did something happen?" I asked. She nodded and I noticed her eyes tearing up. "She's really sad right now," she said. "Well, I stumbled upon this field today. Maybe I could take her there to help her?" I suggested. She nodded again. "She does seem to be happier around you," she said. I smiled. "Leafy! Someone's here to see you!" Mrs. Evergreen called up the stairs. I saw Leafy walking down the stairs. She wasn't crying but I could tell she had been. She smiled a little after she saw me. She stepped outside. "Hi Firey," she said. "Hey," I said. We walked down to the forest at my house. "I found something really cool," I told her. "Really? What?" she asked. "You'll see," I said while covering her emerald-green eyes. I led her into the forest to the field. "Are we almost there?" she asked. "Almost," I said. We finally reached the field and I uncovered her eyes. She gasped quietly and looked around, seeing the flowers and the trees. There where some small, but pretty trees surrounding the area, but in the middle was a large oak tree. Leafy stared in amazement at the field. "Wow, it's so beautiful," she said. "I found it today. It could be our secret hideout!" I laughed. She laughed a bit too. We walked over to the oak tree and sat under it. Leafy looked up at the leaves and then sighed. "Something wrong?" I asked. She nodded. "What happened?" I asked. "W-well, it's a-about O-Oak," she said. I noticed her eyes starting to tear up. "H-he got in a c-car a-accident and he's b-badly injured. He's in the h-hospital with my d-dad. Last time Dad c-called he said that t-the doctor said he's not doing v-very well," she explained with tears streaming down her face. "H-he might even d-d-die," she said. Then she started to cry a lot. She held her head low and looked at the ground, sobbing. The oak tree must have reminded her about what happened. "I'm sorry to hear that," I said. Then I put an arm around her and said, "I'm sure things will be alright. Don't worry. We'll make it through." She cried for a few more minutes and then stayed silent with an occasional sniffle.Leafy's POV:
I'm really sad about what happened to my brother. But at least I have Firey here to comfort me. He truly is the best friend ever. When I'm happy, he smiles with me. When I'm sad, he comforts me. When I'm scared, he tells me it'll be okay and protects me. Just one more of the many things I love about him.Earlier.....
Oak's POV:
I was driving Leafy's car, going to work. My car was in the repair shop and Leafy said I could drive her's. The weather was nice and there wasn't much traffic. I turned on the radio. I couldn't find any songs I liked so I turned it off again. I carefully took my MePhone out and listened to music from that. I was calmly driving, following the rules when I see a car swerve right in front of me. Trying to quickly move out, I spun the steering wheel. Suddenly, everything went black.Witness's POV:
I was taking a run when I see this car swerve in front of another. The car that almost got hit drove out of the way, but then hit an old building. Really hard. The car door swung opened and I saw the man in the car fly out. He was knocked out cold. Panicking, I ran over to him and found his phone. There wasn't a password needed. I guess he had just been on it. I dialed 911 on the phone and waited for an answer. When someone answered, I explained what happened. The woman on the phone said that she had sent an ambulance here. I said okay and hung up. I then looked at the man's contacts and saw one that said "Dad" and clicked on it. I called this man's father and hoped he'd answer. He did and I explained everything. Sounding worried, he asked where "Oak" was. Apparently the man was someone named Oak. I told him where he was and he said he'd be over right away. He hung up after that. I just hope that Oak will be okay, even though I don't know him.Back to present time...
Match's POV:
Seriously?! I'm, like, so annoyed right now! She wasn't in the, like, car at all! It was, like, Leafy's car but she wasn't, like, driving it! It was that, like, brother of her's, Oak. But then again, like, maybe she won't have, like, time because of this! Or, what if he, like, died and his funeral was the, like, day of the play (A/N: OMZ Match! You're so cruel in this fanfic!). But I should have a, like, backup plan. I started to think of another, like, plan.Leafy's POV:
Firey and I were still sitting under the large oak tree. Firey was doing homework (I had finished mine already) and I was reading a book called "Leaf Tales" (A/N: Don't ask. 😆). I've read this book so many times but I love it. I finished reading it for the 1 millionth time it feels like and closed the book. I then pulled out my MePhone and put in my dark green earbuds. I turned on the audiobook "Romeo and Juliet" and stared at the sky. Firey's bright-orange earbuds were in his ears. He's probably listening to music while doing his homework. I thought to myself. He tends to do that a lot. He finished the last of his homework and then leaned back on the tree. He looked at me, took out an earbud, and said something. "What?" I asked while also taking out an earbud. "I asked what you were listening to," he repeated with a laugh. "Romeo and Juliet," I answered. "Oh Leafy, you listen to that so much!" he said with a chuckle. "I know, but it's such a good story!" I said. I looked at the time on my phone. "5:30 already? I should probably go back home," I said to Firey. "Yeah, me too," he responded. "See you later Firey," I said. "Later Leafy," he replied. We walked out of the field and headed back to our homes. But before he went inside his house, he turned around and flashed a smile at me. I smiled too, waved, and walked back to my house.A/N: Another chapter! Match lovers, please don't hate me! Match will become nicer eventually! She's not mean in "Our Written Love" because it takes place after "It's a Love Story." Anyway, who do you think the witness is? There's no correct answer for now but I want to know what you think! Vote and comment and thanks for reading!
