We're Having A Baby

Chapter 3

They next morning I immediately began packing the bag for Dante to prepare for the day ahead. When I was finished with the bag, I sent out another group text to make sure that everyone was still coming. Deciding it was about time to start getting ready I went back to the room to see Dante was just starting to wake up. Walking over to his crib and leaning in I gently spoke. “Hey cutie today you get to meet your crazy family.” Once me and Dante were ready I finally decided to call in work.

“Good morning Physical Therapy Center this is Vanessa speaking how may I help?” A cheery voice came from the other end of the phone.

“Oh great Vanessa it’s you I need you to tell the boss I won’t be able to come in today” I said “Ellis! What the hell happened to you yesterday everything was so chaotic yesterday without you here and the big man was so pissed off too, you got of alot of explaining to do.”

“Yeah yeah its a long story but tell the boss man that I’ll be back in tomorrow.” I said hanging up so I wouldn’t hear my nosy co- worker question me. “Hey Emily you ready to go?” I questioned walking out the room with Dante in my arms.

“Sure but you mind telling me where we’re going”  

“Its a secret.” I said placing my index finger over my lips and walking outside. After strapping Dante into his carseat I slid into the driver side of Emily’s car. She gave me a look that clearly read ‘Really Ellis’ I just grinned in response, “Don't worry no reckless driving there is a baby on board” I said pointing to Dante.

“You know when you say ‘don’t worry’ that makes me worry even more.”

I gasped dramatically “Emily you hurt my feelings” I said placing my hand over my chest. “Just drive” She said ignoring my statement “Aye captain” I said with a fake salute.

The drive to the cafe wasn’t that long, once I parked and placed Dante in a stroller we entered the small cafe and I headed for the biggest table they had there. When we sat down Emily questioned “Now will you tell me why were here”  

“What we can’t just come here for breakfast, let little Dante see the world” Emily gave me another look.

“No because you’re always up to something when you don’t give me a straight answer, plus you don't even like it here you hate the smell of coffee and the coffee itself” I stuck out my tongue.

“Damn you for knowing me so well, were looking for a babysitter so the girls are meeting us here and look Julie just pulled in” I said pointing out the window. When the short haired girl walked in she immediately spotted us.

“JEWELS I MISSED YOU!” I yelled running to hug her she caught me in her arm.

“What’s up?” She asked.

“Oh nothing much, you know just found a baby” I said casually she gave a weird look. “All we be explained soon” I said ignoring her questioning gaze. A few minutes later Julie was playing with Dante, suddenly I felt someone grope my boobs. I let out a high pitched squeak and turned around holding my chest.

“ALE!!!” I yelled at my offender she just laughed in response “Imma get you back” I pouted “Genny!” My mood immediately brightened I pulled both of them in for a hug.

“Who’s baby?” Alejandra asked “Mine” I simply stated. “I’ll explain when Forte and Candy comes.” I said reassuring her, she nooded and took a seat along with Genesis. Ten minutes and 5 phone calls later Sofia and Can’ndace finally came.

“WHAT THE HELL TOOK YOU GUYS SO LONG?!” I asked when the both took a seat at the table. “Sofia overslept” Candy said pointing over to the blonde. I gave them both a glare.

“Well now that were all here I can tell you about Dante” I said picking up my baby. “Who’s kid?” Sofy asked “He’s mine”

“YOU HAD ANOTHER ONE!” Candy exclaimed, Julie smacked her across the head. “Anyways this little guy is Dante he was left by my doorstep two nights ago” I explained.

“So you weren’t pregnant?” I facepalmed.

“Ale how the hell could I been pregnant when you just saw me two weeks ago and last month?” I questioned.

“Oh yea” She said laughing sheepishly.

“Anyways I called you all here because I need a babysitter “ I explained. “Emily has school and I need to go to work tomorrow, so are any of you willing to watch Dante?” I asked desperately.

“I’ll do it”  Candy offered.

“Dont you hate babies?” I asked.

“Yup” She answered giving me a smile.

“Then why do you want to watch Dante?”

“I wanna see how much milk he can drink at once” I smacked her in the head.

“You’re not using my baby for one of your dumbass challenges.” No one else offered. They were all busy, sighing in defeat I banged my head on the table.

“Damnit” I groaned out in frustration, after two straight minutes of cursing like a sailor someone caved “Fine I’ll do.” Lifting my head I looked at my savior.

“Genesis! Really you would look after Dante for me” She nodded.

“OH THANK YOU!” I reached over the table to hug her. “The rest of you are dead to me.” I said to the other girls. Once my little problem was settled we all ate and caught up and I arranged my plans with Genesis for Dante tomorrow. We all said our goodbyes and I gave out hugs and got back at Ale by pinching her boob.

“Where to?” I asked Emily.

“Yesterday I set a doctors appointment for Dante while you were working on his crib.”

“Great thinking ahead” I commented she nodded and started the car.

“When we get to the hospital I need you to register Dante into their database because technically he doesn’t exist” She explained I nodded.

“Seems simple enough” And with that we were off to the hospital.
