I excused myself and went to the restroom. Nasa kalagitnaan palang ako sa paglalakad ng makaramdam ako na may nakasunod sa akin. I looked back and saw the governor walking towards my direction. Binilisan kong naglakad ngunit ganon na lamang ang pagkabigla ko ng maramdaman ko na siya sa mismong likuran ko.

" Hi" He was trying to get my attention. Tumigil ako sa paglalakad at hinarap siya. Ideally, I won't do it but in respect, I still did it.

" Magandang araw po governor" Magalang kong bati.

" I'm glad you attended the celebration" Ramdam ko na hindi siya nagagalak na makita ako. He was trying to make it sound good but I know better than what he is showing me. Sapat na ang ilang taong nakilala ko siya para sabihing galit nga siya sa akin.

" Ahh yes, your PA invited me. Uhm I was just actually here for Expressions." I explained.

He stared at me. Nahiya tuloy ako.

" Uhm I should go." I pointed at the comfort room. I was about to turn my back on him when he finally spoke.

" Iniiwasan mo ba ako" It wasn't a question at all. It was more like a statement. Ngumiwi ako.

" Ah no no. I'm not. For old times sake naman Luke. Ikaw talaga. Shempre, bigatin ka na ngayon. I know you are a busy man now. Kung gusto mong tanungin kung kamusta ako, okay lang naman ako. I'm fine. Still breathing. Fighting" I told him casually.

Napalunok ako ng makita kong nakatitig parin siya sa akin.

" Have dinner with me. Tonight." That baritone voice again.

I shook my head.

" Uhm, may tatapusin pa akong articles ko para sa newspaper eh. Busy ako tonight" Pagdadahilan ko.

Tumango naman siya.

" Tomorrow night then." He bartered.

Bitch think! Magdahilan ka bilis!

" Uhm, may isa pa. Right! May isa pa akong tatapusing article bukas ng gabi. Ano. Uhm busy" I said. I was trying to keep it cool but I know that he knows better.

" The night after tomorrow" He bartered again. Kulit ng lahi nito.

" Uhm Governor-" Hindi ko na natapos ang sasabihin ko ng magsalita siya.

" Luke. Call me Luke" He said

Napalunok ako.

" Okay. Uhm Luke, I think it's better that we don't actually go out. Alam mo na. Mainit ang mga mata ng tao sa 'yo. Kahit friendly dinner, gagawan nila ng kuwento" Ayun, nasabi ko na din ang totoo sa kaniya.

" It's a romantic date. Not friendly dinner, Aviona." Napasinghap ako ng wala sa oras.

" Not again Luke. We already ended this kind of conversation" I told him.

" 366 days, Aviona. But still, you know your stand in my life" It's getting hot in here.

Umarte akong namamaypay sa mukha at leeg ko.

" Ang init Luke. Mabuti pa bumalik ka na dun. Ang init eh" I said.

Nauna na akong naglakad papunta sa restroom ngunit sinundan parin niya ako at hinapit sa bewang. He trapped me between him and the wall as he placed both his hands on the wall to prevent me from escaping.

" Gov-"

" It's Luke, Babe" He reminded me.

" Luke baka may makakita." I demanded.

" Then let them. It won't scar me letting the public know that I am madly and deeply in love with you" He whispered.
