In the chill of an early night in London, Evelyn stood outside the theatre, constantly checking her rose gold watch, to see if it was still 6:45. The movie was to start soon, and Dan still wasn't there. Was he standing her up? DId he have a family emergency? Evelyn had no clue. Okay, Evelyn. Take a deep breath, Evelyn thought to herself. It's been five minutes past your desired rendevous time. Relax. He'll come. Evelyn held her sleek, black leather clutch purse in front of her, shifting her weight from the toes of her flats, to the heels, rocking slowly back and forth. Evelyn heaved a sigh as she looked down the street for Dan for the millionth time in the past five minutes. She was the only one on the street currently since everyone else was out in restraunts instead of in the shops. As Evelyn leaned out to try and look around the corner of the street, a big bit of her hair fell across her face, blocking her view and getting in her eyelashes. She quickly combed it back into its place behind her ear. The humidness from the day's late rain made her hair start to fly everywhere. Evelyn self-conciously smoothed her hair down every ten seconds, but the wretched strands wouldn't stay still. Evelyn tried to take a breath. He will come. She looked down at the gold tips of her black ballet flats, and noticed a small puddle in front of her. She looked at the reflection of her hair, how it was here and there all about. She let out a frustrated sigh and pulled her hair to one side, using the puddle as a mirror. She combed her hair with her fingers, but the reflection didn't mimic her movements. It stood motionless, still holding her hair in one hand. No, not here. Not now. Evelyn thought as her eyes widened as she made her way to look at the the face of her reflection. The irises of eyes were more black, seeping into the whites of the eye. But that wasn't what caught Evelyn's attention. It was the slits on her cheeks. They were loosely and messily stitched back together with thick black thread, and although they were not bleeding, the wounds were open, showing the red flesh inside. Evelyn took a small step backwards, but the reflection didn't move this time. This time, it stood still, just smiling with a closed mouth, those eyes staring evilly into Evelyn. She couldn't take her eyes off it. Suddenly she heard someone say her name.

"Evelyn?" Evelyn jumped a bit, and looked to see a pair of blakc sneakers. She started to look up....and up... until she saw Dan's smiling face. Her terror was immediately washed away, replaced with the passion behind Dan's eyes.

"Hi Dan," Evelyn said, her voice wavering a bit. She quickly cast a glance at the puddle, but the image had disappeared. Evelyn sighed internally, and suddenly concern flooded Dan's stare.

"Are you okay? Did I miss something?" He asked, awkwardly letting his worry through when he spoke. Evelyn's smile faded a bit, and she shook her head.

"Oh no, no. It's just - um, nothing. I'm fine. Thanks," Evelyn stuttered nervously. She didn't want to ruin their date by worrying Dan. His eyes lightened again, and his smile returned.

"Oh, okay. Well then, shall we?" He said gesturing to the door of the theatre and bowing a bit to her.

"Why, of course," Evelyn said, as she led the way through the doors. As she held the door open for Dan, it slipped from her hand and smacked him straight in the face. Evelyn covered her mouth with her hands, then quickly reached for the door and held it open properly for him.

"Oh my god! I am so sorry! Are you okay? Anything bleeding?" Evelyn said, as Dan staggered into the theatre. Dan had his hand over his nose, and Evelyn tried to see through his fingers.

"Uh...OOWWW. No it's alright. I'm fine. It's my fault, I should have been paying attention," Dan said, his voice muffled and mumbled by his hand over his mouth.

"Don't be silly! It was my fault! I let go of the door and it smacked you in the face! If it's broken, I'll pay the expenses." Dan looked at her like she was mad. Okay, maybe that was a little excessive....
