It was 8:30 am and I heard my phone ringing, I looked it at screen it read "Nae". I rolled my eyes "Da' fuck do she want" I answered the phone with a irritated Hello. "Damn bitch what New Orleans doing to you", "I stay in Baton Rouge". "Oh I really don't give a fuck...Anyways my mom asked do you want to come Miami for a couple days she'll pay for yo plane ticket". I just sighed I mean I kind of missed them and it would be nice to get away and I guess I hadn't seen them since I left. Nae was my cousin but didn't act like it, she was about 2 years older then me so damn near my whole life she bullied me. Our little bond we did have came crashing all the way down when her boyfriend admitted to her that he'd rather be with me then her, after that she damn near hated me. Even though I told everyone I was going to keep it I still wasn't fully sure. A baby is a HUGE responsibility I have no job and I'm still in school so that's the biggest downfall right there. I just kind of slouched in my chair and listened to Kentrell talk how Ben got caught with his ex at the mall. Moments later we pulled into Waffle House parking lot, we went in and found a table. After we ordered our food we just sat there, I looked at my phone and instantly frowned. It was Nae talking shit of course, as I was responding back I heard "Pretty Guh' who doing you something". It was the mix of his country accent and softness of his voice that made me melt inside. I just shook my head and turned off my phone, right after our food came. I began eating until kentrell touched my hand and said "talk to me". I let out a slight sigh, "my cousin Nae the one that bullied me my whole life even now, called me and told me my aunt was buying me a plane ticket to come to Miami for a couple days. Of course I wanna go ian' seen them since I left it's just Nae keep talking shit like I did hea' something". Kentrell sat there for a minute and started to smile, "You been in BR' to long you starting to talk like us and shit" we just laughed. "But for real fuck hea' she just hatin'... and you should let me come". My head jerked up, "come...to Miami...and meet my family" I said with a confused look "Yea' you don't want them to meet me or something... they gon' wanna meet yo' boyfriend and the father of yo' child". I just sat my fork down "fuck" echoed in my head I hadn't told ANYONE I was pregnant and to be honest I really didn't want to either. "Helloooo so can I come or not", "Kentrell I'm gon' be honest my family gon' talk shit about you behind yo' back and to yo face... They gon' expect me to be with some ion' know high class nigga". We just looked up with a smile and our eyes locked, it finally broke after 3 minutes when the waiter came with the bill.
Fast forward to the day we left, as soon as we sat on the plane I just kept seeing Kentrell looking around kind of nervously. "What's the matter", "ian' never been ona' plane be foh'". "Mh, but you so gangsta huh" Kentrell smacked his lips while I chuckled, even though we weren't technically dating I still held him in my arms the whole plane ride. We landed safely got off the plane and headed to get our bags, I would constantly peeped Kentrell taking a double take as girls walked past. Once we exited the air port we sat outside and waited for our uber since our aunt was still at work. The whole way there I could see the Curiosity and excitement in his face as we rode through the Miami all the tv show's and movies showed. Once we entered my neighborhood I saw Kentrell's face almost instantly snap into a confused and concerned look, I kind of just laughed to myself. We arrived at my aunts house got our bags and rang the doorbell, I hadn't told anyone Kentrell was coming so everyone was confused as they saw the tall older looking boy follow me in the house with a slight smile on his face. I could see the flirty eyes Nae gave to Kentrell as soon as he walked in but Kentrell tried to not make eye contact with her. After I got done greeting everybody I finally said, "y'all this my boyfriend Kentrell". "Well damn how old is he 23", "I'm 17 ma'am" Kentrell said in the softest voice. Everyone was quiet for a minute until my aunt finally said, "welcome Kentrell...Nae show them to their room". We followed Nae down the hall way, Kentrell stopping and looking at old pictures of me while saying "look at li' Jayda". "Well here's y'all room...oh yea Kentrell right", "yea'" "my room down the hall if you need something". We just mugged each other as she walked out, "Hea' hoe ass" I said while turning away from Kentrell to put my bag down all of a sudden I felt Kentrell grab me and hug me from behind. "It' gon' be Igh" is what he whispered in my ear, I stood there for minutes before turning around and feeling a kiss planted on my lips. I pulled away as I heard a very familiar voice "Where my Jay Bae", my eyes widened "What the fuck is he doing hereeeee"!
