"Jaliyah What da' fuck is you doing" I said trying to wrestle the phone out of her hand but it was to late. She had already told the operator everything, his full name, age, where he lived, how he looks, what he did, she told everything. "Jayda what the fuck is wrong with you" she said grabbing me, "Why would you call the police on him". "He beat yo' ass how many times...look at yo' fucking face, he don't give a fuck about you look how many times he cheated on you. And did you think once about yo' baby that motherfucka' probably dead". I just slightly touched my stomach while looking down, "Jayda when I first met you, you was this bad bitch that cared about herself, now you loosing yo' self over a bitch ass nigga". All I could do was look down in embarrassment, Jayla brought me a zip loc bag full of ice and just gave me a hug. "Now go to sleep we got school tomorrow" I just smiled a little and turned off the light, that night I got no sleep I just stared at the wall wondering what the fuck was my life coming to. I felt moving to Baton Rouge was the worst desion I ever made, I just wanted to run away and never hear "Louisiana" again. The next day at school Damn near all the students and teachers got wind that Kentrell was arrested and was being held on domestic violence charges. As soon as I walked in it felt all eyes were on me, I did my best to cover the bruises with makeup but I felt like I walked in there naked and everybody could see each and ever bruise on my body. I got to my locker when Joe walked up to me, "say' you good" he said putting his hand in my shoulder. "Yea' why wouldn't I be", "i ain't dumb, I know you the one he was beating on". I just shook my head, "he ain't never say nothing to y'all", Joe just shook his head no told me he'll talk to me later and walked off. The whole day I felt as if everybody hated me or something, usually I'll get a few Hey's or Wassam's as I walked through the halls. Today not even the teachers greeted me, I felt as if everything was my fault I wish I never I went back over Jaliyah's house or told her everything that happened. Later on the day I heard my phone ringing, it was from a private number I answered. "This is a collect call from East Baton Rouge Parish Prison for inmate Kentrell Gaulden do you wish to accept the charges". My heart stopped my phone Damn near fell out of my hand "Ye-yes" I said stuttering, I then heard the phone connecting. "Jay-Jayyyyy" is all I heard on the other line, I felt as if something was chocking me I could get my words out. "Why you out me in hea' ", "I-I'm sorry" is all I could say. He just laughed "I'll be out hea' soon...I love you" and just like that he hung up.
