The Demon in Me

Shiena's POV

After a few minutes of our broom ride Asta and I reached a small village. Where children are happily playing like they didn't give a shit about the world and then there's the adults talking happily with each other. The view made me smile, I mean this type of living where you see the people happy and contented with what they have is quite rare. There's nothing like this in the Capital where the Nobles would always make fun of us peasants. "Oh Rebecca! Long time no see, as promised I came to visit you and play with the kids." Asta hop out of my broom and run to a red head with a child on her back. I'm guessing that she's Rebecca, she also had kids trailing behind her must've been her siblings since she's too young to have these children. I land swiftly and flash the kids and Rebecca a vibrant smile, I stood behind Asta and wait for him to introduce me to them.

"So Rebecca and kids this is Sheen-senpai she's a fellow squad mate from the Black Bulls and the Daughter of the Wi- mppph." I put my hands on Asta's loud mouth and smile to them. "Ah, yes I'm Shiena nice to meet you. Don't mind Asta he's just so hyper today since he got to see you and play with the kids. Right Asta-kun?" I pull him close to me and gave him a scary look that even Yami would be scared off. I felt him shiver and nod vigorously, good thing that he got my message since I don't wanna expose my real identity. Because it would just ruin my father's image as the Wizard King. "Uhh yes. Sheen-senpai's right. Now let's go and play kids." Asta drag the kids in the distance which made me erupt into a fit of laughter.

"So you're the Daughter of the Wizard King huh?" Rebecca smile and stood in front of me. How come that she knew? I gave off an awkward smile and nod well I couldn't deny the fact anymore and Rebecca seems trustworthy so I guess letting her know is okay. "Sort of, how did you know?"

"I just grasp off from Asta little outburst. You're kinda obvious." 

"He's like a moving chatterbox. But I didn't mind tho, he's a good kid." She just nod and eye the latter plating with the kids. Asta's spinning this cute little girl gently, the other kids surrounding them while giggling and laughing carelessly. After a few minutes Gauche showed up with a big pack of toys on his back and attack Asta all of a sudden, I discovered that the cute little girl is his younger sister, her name is Marie. That's why she looked familiar the first time I saw her, man this guy had it bad: his sister complex. Poor Asta, even tho Sister scolded him he didn't stop attacking the boy. And since Asta is having a hard time I decided to interfere and defend him from Gauche. It seems that this guy was the type of person to hold a grudge, I couldn't understand him sometimes.

"Asta it's dark already. Do you think we should head home?"

"Oh right, we should tell Rebecca and the rest." Asta agreed and was about to go to Rebecca but she's right in front of us. "You can stay for the night if you want. We would be very glad to accommodate you." She offered which made us smile. Well how can we refuse if she's asking us kindly?

"We would like that Rebecca. Thank you." I bow but she stop me. "It's my pleasure Shiena. Besides I haven't talk to a woman at my age in a very long time how about we had a talk before we head to bed?"

"Hmm, that would be nice. Thank you."

Later that night.

After an hour of talking to Rebecca which is very fun because I get to know her better I walk to where my room is and prepared to sleep or so I thought. I woke up in the middle of the night witnessing an unknown man destroying a part of Rebecca's house and taking the kids to the mountain. Well, that pissed me off not only because they ruined my sleep but also they ruined Rebecca's house and took the innocent kids to the mountain. I hurriedly rush out of my room and saw the others outside discussing about the plan on taking the kids back home.

Asta, Sister, Gauche and I decided to pursue them leaving Rebecca on her house with the baby.

"I promise I'll bring them back home." I flash a reassuring smile to her and step on my broom with Asta. "Don't worry Rebecca, I'll save them and make sure they're safe." Asta seconded.

"Hurry up, My Marie's waiting for me to rescue her." Gauche grunt from the background. I know how he feels, he's being anxious that something might happen to the kids, well I feel the same too because in just a short period of time I learned to like those kids especially Marie-chan. She really is adorable. We almost travel a distance when I started sensing some weak ki's and no doubt it's the kids and the kidnapper. I'm gonna make them pay for what they did.

Fast Forward (because I'm lazy af)

After we save the children and Asta dispelling the magic in them we thought that we could finally go home and rest but the group who demolished and destroyed the Capital showed up "The Eye of the Midnight Sun" with their leader Licht. And it goes without saying that they're going to kill us.

"That light..." Asta spoke with a worried tone. "What is this immense magic? I've never felt something this huge-" Gauche seconded but he didn't finish his sentence when Licht attack him with his magic. We didn't even notice that he attack him, and he even attack Sister. Asta rush to Sister's side and check her well being when Licht decided to land an attack to him but then my reflexes kick me and decided to block his attack, sadly some of his attacks landed on me and pierce my body. Damn, it hurts like hell!

"You're not going to hurt one of my squad mates again you piece of shit." I growl, even tho Gauche's kinda mean he's still my squad mate and my friend. And Sister's very nice to me. I'm going to kill this damn Elf.

"You're quite feisty and determined for a weakling." He gave a snarky comment which made me glare at him. I summoned my grimoire and prepared to counter attack but I started vomiting large amount of blood. My stomach hurts and my head is spinning, he had the guts to punch a hole in my stomach and hurt my friends. I'm going to blow him into smithereens.

"Senpai, stop moving! You're going to loose some blood." Asta rush to my side and let me lay flat on the cold ground, he had that terrified look in his face. "Calm down Kid, I'm not going to die yet. Now go escape and take the others, make sure that they're safe!" I barely spoke while coughing blood. I know that our chance of winning is slim, these people are oozing with mana we couldn't even be compared to their kind and letting Asta escape with the others is the only thing that I can think of.

"No Senpai, I'm not letting you die here."

"Silly I told you I'm not gonna die here." I responded but my vision is fading. I can't barely see Asta's face anymore. "Senpai! No! Senpai! Don't close your eyes! Don't leave me! Senpai!"

Asta kept calling me and shaking my body but I couldn't even hear and see him. I couldn't feel my body anymore. I'm starting to lose my consciousness.

"You want to save them right?" I woke up in the dark with my body hurting as hell. Don't tell me? It's him again? Incubus. I stood up and scan the surroundings, I saw him standing in front of me like he owns the place. I need to wake up, Asta and the others need me. I need to save them.

"What do you want this time Incubus?" I shouted at him.

"Succumb to my darkness Shiena, give your precious little body to me. That way you're going to save your comrades and even defeat the enemy."
