Regret

Shiena's POV

I've been avoiding my Captain ever since that small incident on the kitchen. I don't know what's gotten into Yami, something's odd. He doesn't act that way, from what I observe when I was still a newbie in his squad he's pretty calm and collected. He's not the type of person to do some rash and irrational things without thinking about it. So why did he do that?

Everything is pretty mess up, I heard that a group had attack the capital and they hurt Fuegoleon pretty bad that he's in a state of coma right now. I need to visit him some other time, he's a good friend of mine aside from Jack. Oh God, should I visit him and told about what Yami did to me? No, it would be a very bad decision. He would kill Yami without a doubt. Maybe I should just keep it to myself and avoid him at all cost. But man, it's so boring! I wanna go out and do something but I don't want do see that jerk. After a few minutes of staring into the ceiling I hear someone knock on my door.

"Hmm, what is it?" I rose up from the bed and open up the door.

"Oh, Asta-kun. Do you need something?"

"Sheen-senpai! Since you've been stuck inside your room doing nothing, do you want to go somewhere and have fun?"

As usual Asta is beaming like the sun. He's literally a ball of sunshine. His idea's not bad at all, the woman smiled at the shorter male. "That would be nice Asta-kun, wait for me outside. I'll just find something to wear and change kay?"

"Okay, I'll be waiting in the living room then. Take your time Sheen-senpai." Ah, Asta's a great kid. I closed the door and scurried on my wardrobe to find something comfortable to wear, after a few minutes I found my decent clothes; a black cargo pants and a white fitted crop top. I decided to leave my Black Bulls robe in my room. I'm not in the mood to wear it, besides I think we're in a day off? I don't know, I don't spoke to the Captain. I got out of the room  and started walking through the long hallways of the base, I reached the living room and saw Asta conversing with the Captain over something. Maybe he's asking for his permission? Yami's back is facing in my direction so I decided to walk silently and conceal my ki, I stood infront of him and motion for Asta to act naturally which he understood quickly. That's good because I don't want to meet his eyes, those brown pools that seemed to pull you in a never ending abyss.

"Let's go Asta-kun." I beamed happily like nothing happened between Yami and me in the kitchen in the past few days. I saw his shoulder tense but he didn't face me, and now he's ashamed? I can't seem to predict his behavior sometimes. "Oh Senpai. Good thing that you're here, Captain excuse us. We'll be going now." Asta stood up from the sofa and started walking outside with me trailing behind him.

"Goodbye Captain." I mumble when I walk past him and wave. I didn't wait for his reply and walk out of the base and trail behind Asta. "So where are we going Asta-kun?"

"Where going to Rebecca's because I promised to visit her and play with the kids. Uhh, is that okay with you Senpai?" He ask while scratching his neck like a shy boy which made me erupt into tiny giggles. He really is adorable, now I had a reason to go out of the base and not stay in my room like a growing caterpillar that's stuck into her damn pupa. Atleast I had a reason to get out now, it's not that bad.

"Damn, I couldn't ask for more Asta. Thank you for inviting me to get out of the base. You save me and I owe you my life. I'm extremely grateful." I say in a dramatic manner which made Asta confuse as hell, can't blame him tho. "I didn't do something noble for you to thank me like that, what's gotten into you Senpai?"

"Nahh, don't bother! I just want to thank you for asking me to go with you." I give him a vibrant smile and started walking with him but when I realized something I came into a halt full stop. "Are we just gonna walk through there? Is it nearby? Rebecca's house." After I finished my statement Asta stop and turn his head in my direction. "Ahh Senpai, I forgot to ask you to bring your broom because we need a ride to get there." He scratch his head awkwardly. I shake my head and turn back to the base's direction to get my broom. That kid.

"I'm sorry Senpai." He bowed 90 degrees but I just wave and walk.

"Don't apologize Asta, what kind of Senpai am I if I can't even give my Kouhai a broom ride. Now wait there and I'll be back before you know it." 

I walk to the base and open the door that leads to the wide living room with Yami sitting prominently in the sofa like he owns the place, well he literally owns the place since he's the Captain of the squad. I didn't spare him a glance and walk directly to my room's direction where I kept my broom. But before I've reached the hallway someone grabbed my hand, I saw a muscular hand and I already knew that it's my Captain. "So, what do you want this time? I told you that time to back off right? Or your mind's gone and replaced by a mush of mud that you didn't remember what I said back then?" I met his gaze and saw a tint of guilt in his eyes. He should be. "I just want to say sorry. I wasn't thinking straight that time and I'm sort of drunk, resulting to my actions that lead us into a misunderstanding."

Well damn, now he's apologizing. It's phase where he realized his mistake and started regretting and reflecting from his mistakes. He really thinks rationally huh? But he's not going to be forgiven easily, he needs to earn my forgiveness in some way. He needs to make up for it if he wants us to go back to normal. "I can see that you deeply regret what you did that time and you're apology is sincere. I'll forgive you but... You won't be forgiven easily Captain, you need to make up for your mistakes and maybe after that I'll be in my right mind and forgive you now if you may excuse me I need to get my broom because Asta and I are going somewhere." I grab his hand and tore it from my arm. I didn't even wait for him to reply and rush to where  my room is and grab my broom. I came back to the living room and  saw him standing in the exact same spot where I left him, what is it this time?

"Be careful. And I promise to make it up to you when you came back here so you'll be able to forgive me." He spoke in his usual grumpy tone. I smiled at the back of my mind and give him a thumbs up. I'm expecting you to be able to prove your statement Captain, now let's go and have a stroll with Asta.

"Goodluck with that Captain, you can't sweep me off my feet easily you know?!" I grin at him and walk outside of the base. I can't wait to come back.
