Morning Antics: The Wizard King's Daughter

Shiena's POV

I woke up feeling something heavy in my abdomen. Geez, what is it this time? I'm having a good sleep here. I turn to the other side of the bed and saw Yami facing me with his hand drape on my waist. Did he just thought that I'm a pillow? Ugh, I wanted to throw him out of the bed for ruining my sleep but I remembered that he's doing me a favor by letting me sleep here in his room. I guess I'll just let him sleep in peace this time since he's blabbering about it last night. I'll just do him a favor so we're equal and I don't owe him. I remove his hand on my waist slowly and quietly hoping that I won't woke him from his peaceful slumber. I stood and stretch for a while and walk around the base. I am not a morning person but since I don't want Yami to see me like this and he already woke me up I didn't have a choice but to go on with the day. After a few minutes I noticed that I'm not walking to the living room where everyone sit to do some shenanigans. Welp, I think I'm lost. This base is big after all, it's like a labyrinth. It's still early and maybe I'll bump into someone and tag along to the living room, so might as well explore. After a few minutes of walking I stopped infront of an enormous cage. I heard a faint growl from inside but I just shrug it off and open up the cage. I got inside and saw three magical beasts staring at me intently. Guess they thought me as their meal, nevertheless I'm not scared of them. When I was wondering around the deep forests in the borders of the Kingdom I use to train and play with the magical beasts there, I know how to tame them. I sit in front of them and extend my hand to pet one of them.

"Hey there boys. You wanna play huh? Do you want to get out of here and play with me outside?" They growl at me and nod, the three beasts eyes sparkled like the stars. Oh, so they understand me huh? Since they're really looking up to it why not let them out for a morning walk? But I don't have a leash. Nah, I'll just keep then under control and get them back to their cage before Yami wakes up. I opened up the cage and walk outside, the three following me. After they got out they banged the wall and made a hole in it. Geez, these beasts are so excited. The grumpy old man will be mad at me if he saw that the walls are busted. I sigh and followed the three outside. But before I followed them I fix the wall first with my magic.

"Earth Magic: Stone Barricade" After that I followed the three and then we go to the forest for a walk.

Several minutes later...

Yami woke up without Shiena by his side. He thought that the woman is a morning person and had breakfast already... Or so he thought! He rose up from the bed stretch a little and got out of his room. He just got from the room when he heard Asta screaming like a banshee.

Yami's POV

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH! Captain Yami!" Asta rush to me while screaming. What's happening this time? I'm done with their shits! I just had a good night sleep.

"Stop screaming kid! It's early in the morning and you're screaming like a damn goat! What's your deal this time?" I grab his head and lifted him on the ground. He shiver and mumble some incoherent things.

"C-captain Yami, your pets! They're not in their cages!"

"Where's the brat? Did you see her?"
I think I know who's the mastermind behind the magical beasts disappearance. "Uhh, I haven't seen Sheen-senpai every since I woke up." The kid spoke nervously. I knew it, she's the root of this shenanigan again! I had the permission from Julius that I can throw his brat out if she pisses me off. I drop the kid to the ground and walk outside the base.

"Hey wait, I'm falling! Stop." I heard the brat's voice from afar and some heavy foot steps. I stood out there and wait for her to appear. After a few millennium of waiting (pun intended) the bushes and the trees rustle, the three magical beasts appear with Julius's kid on the back of the other one. They look like they have fun, nevertheless she still needs to be scold for causing this uproar that ruined my peaceful morning. I was going to take a shit when Asta came to me screaming like a madman. She laugh carelessly and jump off to the ground not noticing my presence. They lick her on the face and she giggle like a child. They really took a liking on her huh?

"Care to explain why they're outside brat?" My remark made her stop giggling and look at my direction, the three run up to me and started licking my face too. Great, just great what a good way to start a morning.

"The three of you. Go back inside your cage!" I ordered the beasts, they hung their heads and started heading inside. It's past their breakfast, the kid is already waiting there to feed them.

"Old man, you're mean!" She pointed an accusing finger in my direction. Oh, so she's back to her rebellious self? Could she just shut up and keep down her antics? I just told her to stop causing a ruckus and then this happened.

"What did you do this time brat?"

"I-uhh, I just had a walk with your pets? Hey you can't blame me, they're begging me to let them out." She defended herself while fiddling with her fingers.

"Without my permission? Remember a few things brat! I'm your superior now, you need to respect me because your Dad told me to take you under my wing and I had the permission to throw you out if you piss me off. Now for once keep it all down! I'm done with your antics." I scold her, but she just look to the other and play with her fingers. What a child.

"Hhmkay fine. I'll be quiet now, and I'll certainly stop causing a ruckus. I'll even stop bothering you. I'm sorry about what happened earlier. I'll never walk them again without your permission Captain." She then look at me seriously.

"That's a good decision brat." I turn back and got inside to start my breakfast. I saw everyone in the dining table eating Charmy's cooking. I joined them and started eating.

Shiena's POV

The old man got inside the base looking piss as usual. Okay that wasn't nice of me, that was my mistake I let his pets out without his permission, I've done enough to piss the man off, I don't want to be throw outside of the window so maybe I'll just stop bothering him. Maybe I should just start training with Asta. I got inside and saw everyone else eating their breakfast including the grumpy old man.

"Shiena, come eat with us la~" Charmy called me and I sat on the empty seat beside her and the old man. What a coincidence, I thank her and started eating in silence. As usual they're being lively again, this squad is full of rowdy people after all. They talk while they eat, but I ate in silence. I just enjoy Charmy's delicious cooking.

"Shiena, you told us yesterday that your surname is Novachrono right? Do you know the Wizard King?" Finral interrupted me from savoring the flavor of the dish in my plate. I finish the food in my mouth and answered him.

"Uhh... He's my Dad." The table went silent, they even froze for a minute except for Asta but Yami continued eating unbothered by the commotion of the whole squad. "What?!" They all shout in unison which made Yami punch the wall again. It's still early in the morning and he's pissed already? What is he an old man? A grumpy old man?

"Seriously?" Vanessa

"Cool." Magna and Luck

"Woaaaah!" Charmy

"My friend was a daughter of the Wizard King!" Gordon

"You're really awesome Sheen-senpai!" Asta

"Well this is new." Gauche

"You're big time Sheen-chan!" Finral

"Shuuuuu~" Grey

"Uhh, yeah. Thanks?" I reply with a little shyness in my voice. I'm not that confident when someone know about my relationship with Dad. I mean I am nothing compared to him! I am a foreigner, a peasant. No one will accept me for who I am! Who am I kidding? No one will love me. I finish my food and stood up.

"Asta-kun, we'll start training tomorrow morning. Magna-san, Luck you can come with us if you want to." I gave them a fake smile and walk away from the table. Maybe I shouldn't get attach to every single person that I met. I just thought that because Yami and I are the same he would be the one to understand me since the talk last night but I was wrong, maybe I was just some brat to him after all.
