Chapter 17

[taylors POV]

The weekend was over and it was time for school. Again. Yay.

My mom came in my room, same routine that I'm accustomed to, time to get up! She yells as she turns on my light. It took me 10 minutes of cursing under my breath to physically pull my sluggish self out of bed.

I went into the bathroom and looked in the mirror. I could see bags under my eyes and I just then noticed how much weight I lost in the past month.

I washed my face then put on a little makeup so I didn't look like a zombie that just rose from the dead. I threw on my black jeans and put on a grey shirt and a leather jacket on over it. I threw my maroon docs on and went down stairs. I greeted my mom with a hug and grabbed a piece of toast.

"Oh my gosh Taylor! Your nose, it's bleeding." She said.

"What?" I said worried as I put my hand up to my face. Realizing that bloody noses are just one of many symptoms of cancer. Well maybe it's just a bloody nose and I'm over reacting. I cleaned up and went to school.

"Hey Luke" I said as I walked into school, hugging him.

"Hey babe." He said back
"I could of picked you up this morning. I don't want any germs-" I stopped him

"Luke! Please, this is the exact thing I didn't want to happen. You think I have cancer so your treating me like a glass doll that you're afraid to drop!" I said. Feeling a little light headed after my long rant.

"I'm sorry Tay. I'm just nervous and scared. I've never had to deal with this with anyone before so I'm new at this." He said with worry in his eyes.

We hugged. That didn't last long because the next thing I see is Maddy walking towards us. Joy.

"Hey Lukey. Hey, Tay." She says in her annoying usual voice.

"What do you want." Luke said.

"Oh well Luke, I was having a party this weekend, my parents are gone and everyone is going. You can go and I know you'll probably bring, that" obviously talking about me as she points.
"So go ahead. As long as you're there." She says getting too close for comfort. She walks away.

Before Luke says anything I say
"Do you wanna go? I think it will be good for us right now. I need something to get my mind off of our whole medical issue." Obviously talking about the cancer scare, but not wanting to say it aloud.

"Whatever you want babe." He says as he goes in and hugs me.

"Just stay close this time. I don't want ANY guys touching you. And if they even look at you, I'm not afraid to show them that your mine. And only mine." He says as he smirks and kisses me.

Maddy still bothers me though.
