Chapter Five || Animal Shelter
After class was done she ran out as soon as she could not wanting Jay to trap her inside the classroom again. She still loved him and that was dangerous specially since she had a fiancé now. Although she did have a deal with him. She headed to where Adrian was and saw he was still arm wrestling with Vasco trying to win. This was the first time she saw someone on the same level of strength as him but something was telling her Adrian was holding back to not intimidate Vasco and make him seem as an equal.
"Hey guys are you still on that?" Aileen asked as walk towards them causing Vasco to loose concentration
Vasco felt conflicted about her still but he decided if Adrian was a nice guy then he will give her the benefit of the doubt to prove she is nice too. So he hesitated but said
"We are going to an animal shelter to help out, want to come?"
"I would love to but ..." Aileen started and look at Adrian for help causing Vasco to grip Adrian's hand tighter 'Of course a beautiful girl like her don't want to do things like that unless anyone else mentions their will be "cute" animals'
Adrian raised a eye brow at Vasco and said
"We have a photo shoot at animal shelter to see if we can encourage people to adopt animals instead of buying them, it nonprofit and we are going to include were people can donate money if they can't have animals"
"Yeah I would love to go any other time but we already promised this" Aileen added looking at her feet making Vasco feel bad but he needed to know so he asked
"Why a girl like you want to help animals?"
"Because is the right thing to do" Aileen answered him as she stared at him
"Aileen actually has multiple animal rescue farms where old animals are just living the end of there life time, why don't you guys come with us to this photo shoot and then we will go with you guys another day to the animal shelter you wanted to go to?" Adrian said still holding his ground against Vasco grip
"It would be a lot of fun and you guys can join the photo shoot maybe we can sell calendars and the profits go to the local animals shelters around here" Aileen said excited as she ran to Vasco as she held Vasco other hand and pouted
"Please Vasco"
Vasco tried to look away but those doe light brown eyes sucked him in as he sigh as nodded, which cause Aileen to break Adrian's and Vasco arm wrestling as she hugged him. Vasco could feel as the room just got hotter and felt surrounded by her strawberry scent like a blanket. It wasn't obnoxious the smell rather it was comforting. He patted her back awkwardly not wanting Adrian to punch him in the face for touching Aileen. Aileen broke away from the awkward hug and pulled him up as she told him
"Lets go, we don't want to be late"
"Wait, we already said we were going too and we can't look bad" Jace said as he stood by the door confused as to how Vasco could forget that
"Sorry, I forgot" Vasco said looking guilty unable to look at her as she looked disappointed
"It's okay next time" Aileen said as she left go of Vasco hand taking her warmth away making Vasco look at his hand confused
"Come on sis we don't want to be late" Adrian said as he walk pass Jace and head nodded him
"Okay .... Bye guys" Aileen said as she walk toward Adrian and for some reason Vasco couldn't help and grab her elbow
