Lessons the next day were filled with shared glances between Ron and I. It was fun to have a shared secret that no one else knew, not even Harry, even though nothing actually happened during the night; we just slept until the morning, in each others' arms. The whole rest of the day I was so happy and felt like I had taken a lethal dose of Amortentia and I thought that nothing could burst my bubble.

Oh boy, was I wrong. My fears were going to come true, it was going to end in heartbreak.

After dinner, Harry, myself, Ron, Fred and George were relaxing in front of the fire in the Common Room. We were the only ones there, plus Ginny and Dean in the corner. I couldn't stop reliving the moments of the night before. The way Ron held me in his arms, the way he prepared his room for me, the way he lay with me the whole night.

"Hello, Earth to Y/N?" Said Ron.

"What?" I had been dreaming again.

"I said look at Ginny, over there."

I looked over and saw Ginny was snogging Dean passionately in the corner.

"So?" I asked. "She's growing up. She can make her own decisions."

"Does she have to snog him right here, though?" Ron said, disgruntled. I laughed.

"Just because you haven't found anyone who wants to snog you like that, doesn't mean other people haven't." Said Fred, teasingly.

Ron turned very red. I saw his eyes flicker towards me.

"I'm going to go get a sweater." I said, hurrying off to my dormitory. I sighed a shuddery breath. I dug through my trunk, trying to find my favourite sweater. I saw Ron's jacket lying on my bed. I didn't care what Fred and George would say. I put it on and made my way down stairs. On the way, I met Ginny.

"Don't go down there. It's not pretty." She warned and hurried off. I was confused. I went to the bottom and stood in the doorway to the Common Room, just seeing Harry and Dean escape to the boys dorm. I watched the scene in front of me.

Ron was standing twenty feet away from Fred and George who looked slightly scared, while Ron was red in the face. They were bellowing at each other and hadn't noticed my presence.

"All I said was that if you don't get together with her soon I'm going to rip your head off!" Yelled George.

"And then HE said that I was only mad at Ginny and Dean for snogging away in the corner because I hadn't been able to do that with Y/N! SHE IS NOT MY GIRLFRIEND! SHE IS MY FRIEND. I DON'T LIKE HER!" Ron screamed.

Everything went still. Fred and George had noticed I was there. Ron turned and saw me. He gasped.

"I didn't mean... I never..." But Ron was unable to form a sentence. I felt a single tear slide down my cheek. Fred and George quickly ran away from the Common Room.

I took his jacket off me and hurled it at him. I was mad. I was angry. I was furious.

"So that's it, huh? I'm just your friend. You don't even like me. And to think I was in love with you!" I screamed at him. I stalked up to him, and he drew back.

"You... you were what?" He said quietly.

"To think I was going to ask you to the stupid BALL!" I spat in his face, pushing him with my fingers.

"You are an arse, Ronald Weasley. A complete and utter arse." I whispered to him. I saw his eyes fill with tears.

I don't know what made me do what I did next, but I swung my hand at him. He cried out in pain, and I regretted it the second I did it. Ron looked at me in bewilderment, rubbing his cheek.
