She closed her eyes, unshed tears rimmed her eyelashes, tilting her chin up and brought her face up. This was her unwilling consent to prove that she indeed loved him. Realizing little that love demands no proves, only the heart needs to connect.

Danial stood in flesh and bone, right in front of her. He narrowed his eyes to focus his sight in the bright sunlight. Gaze slowly gliding up and down her as in to measure her existence. In a stilled moment, she felt panic and nervousness getting hold of her. Her subconscious seemed to rescind, dissolving her will to step back into the house and leave his intimidating presence at once.
A sense of acknowledgement cascaded his intense features. Recognizing her the very instant, like she did. The recognition flickered over his face for a brief second but he managed it out well and replaced it with a blank expression swiftly. Standing there stuck in a whirlpool of his own uneasiness and nervousness. Not blinking eyes, thinking he was hallucinating and she might disappear. Unconsciously he lifted his arm and scratched the side of this chin. A habit she used to tease him about whenever he was confused or nervous.
Unsure of his further actions, he abruptly turned around. Realising that wasn't a good idea either, he turned back to face her direction once again. Contemplating to at least be polite and say a 'hello' but his throat felt as dry as sandpaper.
Sunlight basked him in its warm rays, making his features a muss of gold and dark streaks. Taking in a few details, she caught on how those features had matured so much with time that had stretched between them. They have shifted phases from childhood to almost adulthood. They both were all grown up, standing before each other. Confounded by the reality of fate. Indeed it was fate that day that brought them face to face once again.
Last time she saw him, it had been years ago. When they were still kids and life was a lot simpler. His face told her stories of all the years that had passed between them like a storm of time, not waiting around for anyone. He was all grown up now. From a tiny two feet highly moody kid to a tall brooding guy standing before her in all his glory.
She saw his hand lift as if to wave at her and brought her back to reality. Swiftly she broke away the gaze she had been holding for what seemed like hours, realising she had been shamelessly staring at him for so long. Taking a deep breath. Balanced the bag straps over her shoulders, and clumsily turned around. Her back towards him now, she briskly walked on her heels towards the house. Ignoring his gaze boring its way right into her soul.
