Chapter 9

    Jacqueline wandered around looking for some shaved ice. He went past quite a few stalls before eventually finding the right one. He got two cones, one for Charlotte and one for Annette. He started to head back to where the girls were but then realized something. He had absolutely no idea where he was at. Jacqueline started to panic. He looked around in every direction but couldn't find a single thing he recognized. He left his map with Annette so he couldn't use that. Suddenly he felt someone tap him from behind.

    "Excuse me? Are you a lost child?" the voice said.

    Jacqueline turned around to see a girl. She was tall and had silver hair with a leaf barrett. She had pointy ears that poked out from her hair and a cold expression.

    "Huh?" She called me a child... "Y-yeah..."

    "Where are you trying to get?" She asked.

    "Ah! I need to get to the entrance."

    "Oh that's not far, I can show you the way."

    "Really?" He said hopefully.

    The girl nodded, "Cmon."
She started to walk away and Jacqueline followed her.

    "I'm Nova by the way."

    "Jacqueline. It's nice to meet you."

    "Nice to meet you too."
   
    "Where do you go to school?"

    "I'm homeschooled by my grandparents."

    "Oh..." He said awkwardly

    After a long, awkward journey, they arrived back at the entrance. Annette looked up and gasped as she saw Jacqueline approaching. She tried to run over to him but Charlotte grabbed her arm before she could get any farther. Annette glared at Charlotte.

    "Hi guys." Jacqueline waved to them.

    "Who's the girl?" Charlotte said immediately. Annette nodded her head. She hadn't noticed her at first but now that she had she wanted to know who she was as well.

    "Oh, she just helped me get back here. I got lost... oh! But I did bring the ice cones!" He smiled.

    Annette slipped out of Charlotte's grasp and ran over to Jacqueline.

    "What?! You got lost?! I'm so sorry! I should've gone with you!" She looked like she was about to cry as she hugged him tightly.

    Jacqueline shuddered.

    "I'm fine really! S-So please get off of me... I'll drop the food."

    Annette let go and looked up at him. She didn't realize it before but Jacqueline was taller than her. He wasn't taller than Charlotte though. Charlotte was very tall and that's what made her so scary to Jacqueline... well, despite the fact that she was a werewolf.

       Nova awkwardly spoke up.
"Ahem, I should probably get going now..."

"o-oh right..." Jacqueline responded

They all waved goodbye to Nova and she left.
