"You sure you're feeling better?" Brandi asked on the way to DADA in the morning, still worried about Harry's fall.

"I promise, it's not the first time I've had a run in with a dementor."

Brandi rolled her eyes as he opened the door for her and they entered the classroom. "Believe it or not that doesn't make me feel any more relaxed. Gonna wrap you in bubble wrap, Potter."

He poked his tongue out at her playfully and she jabbed him in the ribs, the two of them moving into a bickering and extremely close friendship. He had been told that she refused to leave his side yet again when he was unconscious, and as if it were even possible, his admiration and respect for her grew even more.

He really did consider her a sister despite how little time they'd spent together, and she did too with him, a brother. Their shared connection couldn't be ignored.

"Ah, there are my two mischief makers." Lupin commented as the two of them pushed each other into the classroom. "Brandi, you still feeling confident with your wand? We're doing a more practical class today."

Her face lit up. "Yes! Absolutely," her excitement jumped out and made Harry and Lupin smile at her eagerness.

The class gathered around in the empty space that their professor had cleared, all of them facing an old closet.

"Alright class, so today we're going to be learning about repelling bogarts. Now, can anyone tell me what a boggart looks like?"

As Hermione answered Lupin's questions and Ron wailed about her showing up out of no where, Brandi was distracted by the stern glare of a blonde Slytherin across the room. Was he mad at her? Was he trying to get her attention? He held his cold gaze unwaveringly, only breaking the face by a quick raise of his eyebrows.

Brandi quietly elbowed Harry to get his attention, turning to whisper in his ear. "Is that blonde kid staring at you or me?"

Harry knew straight away who she was talking about. "You, I think. Just ignore him, that's Malfoy."

"Malfoy as in the prick that's been targeting you guys since day one?" she asked, remembering the stories they'd all told her.

He nodded and rolled his eyes. "Probably just now realising he hasn't yet had a turn with you, searching for a weakness."

Brandi giggled under her breath slightly, turning back to Malfoy and deciding to have some fun with it. Instead of copying his cold glare, Brandi proceeded to pull the ugliest faces she could manage, coupled with the raising of her two middle fingers pointed his way, causing Harry, Ron and Hermione to strangle their sniggers to themselves.

"Ok, so try with me now, without wands first please. Riddikulus. "

The class repeated the charm.

"Good, now. Neville!" Lupin called on the shy boy at the front while the rest of the class slowly migrated into a loose line up to have their turn.
