After the sorting was over, Headmaster Dumbledore unloaded a huge surprise on us. There was so much information to take in.

I thought this was going to be a fairly normal year, ya know, despite all the magic and stuff. But a multi-school wizarding tournament? I mean at least I wasn't going to be all that was new this year.

I'd have to write my dad a letter about all this... I mean an owl... an owl letter? But he'd also maybe flip and think it's too much and try to pull me out of school and I didn't want that... maybe I shouldn't tell him yet.

Cedric and I make our way out of the great hall. He tells me to follow him to the Hufflepuff common room in the basement.

"Hey Ced," I hear a voice call out from behind me. I turn around.

"Aren't you going to introduce us to the new girl?" A boy with blonde hair says, joined by a dirty blonde haired girl.

"Ello love, Milo Tremblay at your service, it's a pleasure," he bows as he gently grabs my hand and places a small kiss on the back of it. I can't help but giggle.

"Uhg, get out of here Milo, you're absolutely ridiculous, you know that?" The girl with freckles and bright pink lips barges in, shoving him to the side.

"Don't pay attention to that himbo, he's mental. I'm Stella Fowl - the ringmaster of this shitshow." She gives a slightly disgusted look to Milo then to Cedric.

Jesus, we're these Cedric's friends? The three of them, Cedric included, are all hot. They're so very hot.

"Hi, I'm Delia Clarke...the new girl. Nice to meet you both," I say somewhat proudly, trying to make a good first impression.

"I was just about to show her to the common room," Cedric tells them.

"Well in that case let me lead the way," Milo links his arm in mine and spreads the other in a grand gesture as he starts walking forward.

"I can show you all the best places to sneak off to to smoke," he smirks at me.

"Milo!" both Cedric and Stella shout as they rush to catch up to us.

Cedric, Milo, and Stella lead me to the basement. They ask me about myself and I tell them about my dad and living in the muggle world, just some basic formalities.

Milo and Stella ask me questions about the muggle world and bicker at each other about what they think the answers are before I tell them.

We get to a corridor near the kitchens that's filled with barrels and I stare in puzzlement. Cedric taps a rhythm onto of them and a secret door opens. Woah.

We make our way through the tunnel and pop out into the Hufflepuff common room. I stare in amazement. Even, though it's in the basement it feels so cozy, sunny even, with yellow banners, and plants everywhere. It just makes you feel happy.

We make our way over to an area with plush chairs and couches and sit down. Cedric teaches me the secret of how to enter the common room and I find out that Stella is actually going to be my roommate.

I feel so happy knowing that this seemingly great group of friends took me in so easily and quickly. I am starting to feel really good about this year.

"So are either of you buffoons thinking about entering the tournament?" Stella asks Cedric and Milo.

They told me they were all year 6's which meant they were two grades older than me and eligible to enter.

"My dad's been training me all break for it. I've been looking forward to this opportunity basically my whole life," Cedric exclaims confidently yet humbly.

"Oh of course Cedric, captain of the quidditch team, the pride of Hufflepuff, Diggory is going to enter. Leave some opportunities for the rest of us to take the spotlight for once mate," Milo says in a light joking tone, chuckling, playfully nudging his best friend.

"What are you on about mate, you have the same chance of getting your name pulled as I do," Cedric remarks back, smiling.

"You're right, hell I'm on the quidditch team too, and not too shabby with my wand, you better believe I'm gonna enter too. Besides, those Beauxbatons' girls got me feeling some type of way..." Milo drifts off longingly.

"I think you mean horny," Stella lets out with a chuckle. We all let out a laugh at this comment.

"Also all the attention would go straight to that cute yet so empty head of yours Milo," she plays at him again.

"Well how about you Stella?" I question her.

"I mean hell yeah I'm all for throwing my name in the ring and seeing a badass woman win this thing. If those Beauxbatons girls are entering, I say, let the best woman win," she stands up and tips an imaginary hat while bowing.

"Bravo," cheers Milo applauding. Cedric and I join in giggling.

"Okay okay, not to be a party pooper, but I am your prefect still, and it's late and tomorrow's the first day of classes so I think we should all get some sleep, yeah?" Cedric says getting up.

"Boooo," Stella moans at Cedric giving him a thumbs down.

"I think that's a good idea, I mean I still have to unpack and see our room and everything Stella," I start, standing up.

"So I guess the boys are just going to have to miss out on our first girls night celebratory pillow fight," I say pouting at Cedric sarcastically.

Stella laughs and puts her arm around me, "I like this one."

"Wait, pillow fight!?" Milo says excitedly. "Ceddd......" Milo pleads at Cedric.

Cedric shakes his head and lets out a nose laugh, "Bed, now." As he starts pushing Milo towards the boys dormitories.

Stella and I giggle on our way out of the common room and through a round door to the girls dormitories before finding ours.

Stella and I spend the rest of the night talking while we unpack. She tells me stories of their friend group. How they all played quidditch together.

It made me wish that i'd come to this school sooner.

We eventually end up going to bed.

So many thoughts flow through my brain: I'm anxious yet excited about the start of classes, I don't even know what to think about the tournament yet, and this charming boy who has taken me in. But eventually I fall asleep.
