Vince just got home from the hospital. His day was mostly filled with consultations and rounds with his patients. He is excited to be back home and in time for their family dinner which he always looks forward to, especially his wife's cooking.

He entered the house, and he can already hear the laughs from the dining room. He took off his white coat and placed it on the couch, together with his bag before heading to where the happy noise is. He saw everyone is seated while Tricia is placing food on the table. This view is what he loves watching every time he gets home.

He walked in and it got everyone's attention especially his kids. He approached Tricia to give her a kiss before welcoming the besos from their children. His wife asked him to wash his hands before sitting down, which he followed.

He sat down in his place and noticed that Cassie's boyfriend, Carlo, is with them, too.

"Good evening po, Doc." Carlo greets him, and he gave a timid smile towards him.

"Wala kang duty ngayon?" he asks.

"Off ko po, Doc." And he nodded.

Carlo is a resident at the same hospital where Vince is working, and he is also planning to be a neurologist like Vince. Cassie and Carlo met at the hospital when Cassie dropped by to visit her Papa. Carlo couldn't take off his eyes at Cassie and after months of courtship and a few pleadings of Cassie to her Papa, she gave him her yes. It wasn't an easy journey though, especially if the father of the girl you love is your boss.

"Papa!" Timmy, his youngest, was the first one to call his attention.

"Yes, Tim?" he asks back.

"Are you free on Sunday? Let's go sailing naman."

"Sure! Walang problema. As long as you're done na with your homeworks, ha? Ayokong mapagalitan nanaman tayo ng Mama mo." He says and that earns a laugh among the kids.

Tricia sat down on the chair beside him and started putting food on his plate. "Because the last time, it was his finals week tapos naglakwatsa pa kayo. So papayagan ko kayo this weekend as long as your schoolwork are done."

"Yes, Ma." Timmy says.

Everyone started eating. The kids sharing how their day was. Tricia and Vince loves it when the kids are like that. However, he noticed that Cassie and Carlo are a bit quiet than usual, but he shrugs it off, thinking that Cassie is just tired.

Tricia brought out the desserts. She said that Cassie experimented on a new recipe of Tiramisu. She handed out slices to the whole family and everyone enjoyed it. Under the table, Tricia slips her hand on Vince's, which her husband responds to nicely. She wants him to be calm on what's going to happen next. She looked at Cassie, as if she wants her to talk and Cassie nodded.

"Pa..." Cassie calls out her father.

"Hmmmm?" he says while putting his fork down and drank water. Cassie waited for him to put down the glass before saying anything.

"Pa... um..." she says and the whole table became quiet. Her two brothers are looking at her and Carlo.

Vince is looking at the two and he instantly felt different. His heart starts to pound, and he gave Tricia's hand a squeeze.

"Pa... me and Carlo..." she took a deep breath before saying the next line. "We're getting married..."

Cassie placed her left hand on the table, showing off the engagement ring. She is looking at her Papa, waiting for him to say anything. She knows that her Papa can be supportive and cool, but she knows how strict he can be especially when he allowed her to finally accept suitors and have a boyfriend.
