Sasuke's POV

The bell rang, signaling the start of class. After a minute everyone had settled down and was in their seat so Sensei spoke,"Alright class, as some of you may know Kiba-kun is in the hospital."

A student in the back shouted 'What?!' and that was the signal for everyone else to start talking. I was surprised too but I had been expecting it, with Kiba always getting into fights and all. He's been injured and needed stitches before but it was never to the point where it was announced to the class.

Kiba had been absent from school for three days already and no one heard from him during the weekend.

"Settle down! Settle down!", Genma-Sensei shouted over the class. They were all talking so loud his voice was drowned out,"Shut up!!" The class quieted down. He cleared his throat and continued,"As you all have noticed Kiba has been absent for quiet some time, reason being that he is currently in a coma." Everyone started talking,"Oooiii!! You've been taugh not to talk when your teacher is talking for years! Why can't you all get that through your heads?!"

He sighed and switched his toothpick to the other side of his mouth,"They don't know when he'll wake up but when he does it would be nice is he was surrounded by gifts. So if you want to give him anything have it here by the end of the week....Now,"Genma-Sensei clapped his hands and turned towards the board writing 'English Read Aloud.' "Let's get started!" A few of my classmates groaned in agony.

That day at school was the same as always and the days after that. Then came Friday and nearing the end of class Sensei asked,"Everyone who wanted to bring something brought it, correct?"

"Hai!" We answered.

He erased the board of math equations and the bell rang. Sensei turned back around,"Stand, bow. See you all tomorrow and don't forget to work on your research papers!"

I took my bag off the hook on the side of my desk and got up from my desk.

"Bye, Sasuke~!" A group of girls chorused.

"Bye." I smiled.  They walked away giggling.

"Hey, Sasuke, we're going to that mixer I was talking about. The offer is still there if your up for it."

"No, sorry. I have to go to an event with my family."

"Alright. Next time then, eh? Let's go guys." He and his friends left.

I walked down the row of desks and as I was nearing the door,"Ah, Sasuke!" I turned around.

"Yes, Sensei?" He beckoned me over with a wave of his hand.

"Uh, you see kid, I have to stay late today and I also have to take Hayate-Sensei to the doctor so I don't think I'll be able to deliver Kiba's gifts. I was wondering if you could."

"Yeah, I can drop by the hospital before heading home."

"Thanks, Sasuke. It's just a few cards and the bunch of cranes you need to bring." I put the cards in my bag and picked up the bunch of cranes,"See you tomorrow, Sasuke."

"Later, Sensei." I said while walking out the door.

Through the halls, out of the building, and to the front gates I greeted who I knew or knew me as I went.

"Master, Sasuke." My driver Mikio took the cranes from me.

"Just put those in the front, please."

"Hai." I ignored the stares and whispers, getting into the car I placed my bag next to me and Mikio closed the door. He got in and started the car, driving out onto the street,"If you don't mind me asking, who are the cranes for?"
