Somin inside jokes

"Simon"

While coming up with English names in a Buzzfeed interview, Somin blurted out an English name that sounded similar to hers. This moment has lived on in infamy ever since.

"Neomu Kawaii!"

While filming in Japan, Somin encountered a Sanrio store. In her excitement, she accidentally combined Korean and Japanese, and this phrase was born.

"Princess Somin/Queen Somin"

This nickname was created due to Somin's love for Disney movies.

"We need to hang out more!"

During an interview, Somin says this when Halsey is mentioned.

"They scream like they saw some insect."

While watching people react to the boy with luv mv, she points out a particularly loud group of fans, and asks if there was some bug out of frame before making a buzzing sound.

"I can't, I'm idol, sorry."

During a v-live, Somin read an English comment asking to marry her. Since she wasn't fluent in English at the time, this was her response.

"I'll forgive you, but only if you buy me food."

During the 'Of course' game with the rest of BTS, after Yoongi said something particularly scathing, she said this.

"Wait, what?"

Somin is known to be ditzy and a bit of an airhead, so this is a common refrain of hers.

"Why would you do this?"

During a vlive, Namjoon puts Minnie on the spot, asking her to speak English. Needless to say, she wasn't amused.

"600 won/ Mafia Somin"

During a solo interview, Somin takes the chance to call out Taehyung, who owed her money at the time. This caused the nicknames 'Loan shark Somin' and 'Mafia Somin' to take root.
