The broken mates

It had been a week, a very long and slow week. I had yet to talk to Alex as she had yet to be okay with Caspian but i wasn't giving up. Indigo gave birth to a stunning little girl called Lila who i am now a godmother to. Overall the week hadn't been great i was struggling without Alex and the pack was beginning to notice our distance and dampening moods but we are both too stubborn to give in yet. 

"Emmy?" Caspian calls out from the armchair across the room where he was sitting reading his new favourite book. 

"Yes Cas" I had given him a nickname a day or so ago and he loves it but he refused to let anyone else call him that because its only for me as he said.

"Can we go get food and go to the park again?" He asks looking at me with hope filling his eyes which i can never seem to say no to. 

" Yes go get dressed okay i will go down and start us with some breakfast okay" I say standing from the desk where i was working.

I walk down stairs and turn into the kitchen my heart skipping about at her scent and my eyes beginning to water but I push it away and just focus on making some breakfast.

I hear small footsteps coming down the stairs and I turn to see Capsian looking so happy at himself with his new outfit on and I small turning the oven off and plating up three plates.

"You start eating ill be back in a minute okay" I say kissing the top of his head before I walk away from the kitchen tracing my footsteps back up the stairs until I come to a door where he scent lingers the most and I place the food on the floor before knocking and turning away from the door and hurrying back along the corridor as I hear her footsteps moving towards the door and I stand around the corner watching as she opens the door looking around the corridor and letting out a sad sigh as she sees 'im not there and simply turning back into her room shouting "Thank you" but my heart feels a weight as i can hear the tiredness in her voice. i lean against the wall sighing as a tear rolls down my face and i place a hand against my chest trying to release the knot that was forming as the emotion i've been constantly pushing down throughout the last week. 

"Are you ready to go?" Caspian asks bounding over to me as i walk back into the kitchen with a fake smile on my face, as i nod at him taking his outstretched hand and we left walking towards the park where we see a bunch of people playing outside, i sit on a bench when i feel a presence next to me and i stiffen.

"Hello Emmeline ever since i got back you happen to be all anyone is talking about" I turn to see a gorgeous woman with flowing blonde hair and eyes as blue as the ocean.

"Oh well hello and welcome back it's a pleasure to meet you" I say sticking my hand out for her to shake "What's your name?" 

"Anna, a very close friend of Alex's but i call her Lexi" She completely ignores my hand and just throws a disgusted look at it so i place it back on my lap and ignore her disrespect.

"Well i'm always happy to meet a friend of my mates" she lets out a rather rude laugh before speaking

"So its true someone like you is actually mated to Lexi" She says and her face reddens a little so i just choose to ignore her and turn back to watching Caspian play on the park but she quickly grabs my arm and i stiffen at her squeezing my arm and i stand and pull away from her calling Caspian over who comes bounding up to me and i pull him into my arms and begin to briskly walk away, but i can hear her footsteps following behind me and i turn my head to see her looking quite bored and picking her nails as she walks behind me but i just turn and eep walking towards my car and buckle caspian up in the back before walking round and sitting in the drivers seat of the car and pulling away from the car and watching in the rear view mirror.

I  see her smiling at us with a unsettling smile but i focus on driving and i turn up the radio and laugh as Caspian starts to sing along with the songs and i can't help but join in with him as we reach back at the house and i smile as i see Indigo standing outside with a screaming lila in her arms and i unbuckle caspian from the car and lead him over to her. 

"Cas this is my good friend Indigo and this is her little girl Lila" I see him freeze at her 

"Why is she crying?" He questions "I don't like her crying" he says hugging my legs.

"Its okay Caspian why don't you go say hi okay" He simply nods at me before heading over to them and he gently brushes hs thumb over her cheek and i watch in amazement as Lila stops crying and stares at him with gorgeous brown doe eyes and i catch Indigo smiling at them.

"Come on let's go inside" i say ushering them in watching Caspian trail behind them as they take a seat on the couch.

"emmy" i hear my mate almost whisper and i freeze never turning around this is the first time i had seen her this week she only came home after i was asleep and left before i was awake. 

"Alex" I say my voice finding no emotion.

"Go ill watch them go talk it out it's about time" she says with a small smile.
