Chapter 6

After dealing with a fairly normal class period lunch time came around. Both Sero and Y/n found an empty table to sit at so they could talk privately for a bit. Sero took a sip of his drink before looking at the girl across from him. "So do you actually plan to go after el faldero" Y/n laughed and shook her head "no I've had my fill of players in the past. But it is fun to mess around with them." She shrugged and took a quick sip of her drink "plus I don't see any harm in flirting. You did say he was single"

Sero shook his head "nuh uh that's not what I said, I said he might have a girl" the h/c girl gave him a pointed look "yea but you meant it as fuck buddies, no? Do you know who this girl is anyway?" Sero sighed "no but I've umm...heard things. But no one knows who it is" y/n nodded her head in understanding "hey I know when to back off so I won't cross any boundaries if someone told me to back off.  For now it's fair game" she smirked

Sero laughed "terca" y/n stuck her tongue at him. After a silent pause a pink blur ran over to the duo almost to knocking Sero out of his seat. "Sero no fair hogging the new girl!" Mina shouted. "Mina! Don't just run into me! You could have knocked over my food!" Sero shouted back. "Plus I wasn't hogging her I just had to ask her something in private" Mina gave the boy a look "ok sure. But this isn't our usual table you bitch so I'm saying you still hogged her" Sero rolled his eyes and looked back at the girl in front of him.

While y/n was a little startled from Mina bursting in, she was mainly unfazed. She did have a loud family and plenty of energetic friends back in Texas so this was pretty normal to her. "Hi! I haven't really properly met anyone yet other than Sero. It's nice to meet you...." she trailed off hoping Mina would give her her name. Mina smiled brightly at the short girl. "I'm Mina! It's nice to meet you L/n-san" Y/n got up from her chair and hugged the girl. "You can call me y/n I don't mind!" Mina stood there a little confused to why the girl was hugging her.

Sero chuckled at the interaction "Mina hug her back. It's how we are taught to greet people. Mainly friends and family but I see Y/n is still getting used to the change" Y/n immediately let go after hearing Sero talk "oh jeez! Sorry I forget not everyone greets people the way I do! Did I make you uncomfortable? I'm so sorry!" She bowed. Mina nervously laughed and rubbed her neck "no you're fine! You just caught me off guard is all!" Y/n sighed in relief and sat back down.

Mina smiled at her and turned to Sero "hold on I'm gonna go get the other guys! I guess this will be our new table!" Mina walked away to get 3 other boys. Y/n groaned and hid her face in her hands "that was embarrassing! Imagine if I kissed her cheek like I did with you! She would have thought I was so weird!" Sero burst out laughing "not gonna lie when you kissed my cheek it did catch me off guard since I only greet my parents that way" this made the girl groan louder "but it's fine since I know it's how we greet people! It didn't make me uncomfortable!" He added.

Y/n peeked at him from behind her hands "thanks that makes me feel a little better." She muttered. Sero chuckled and reached over patting the girls head. Y/n peered up at him "don't go making me fall in love with you now" Sero's eyes grew wide before seeing the girl's slight smirk. He pushed her head back making the girl burst into fits of giggles. "Shut up you idiot" y/n giggled and smiled at him. She was happy there was someone that understood her playful manner and didn't take it seriously.

Mina came rushing back leading 3 boys to the table. Mina sat down next to y/n and gestured for the other boys to sit down. Two of the guys sat beside Sero leaving the tape dispenser in the middle. A boy with red hair sat on the other side of Y/n. "This is our new table guys. Y/n is now official part of our group. Go ahead introduce yourselves!" Mina said and began eating her food. The redhead turned to look at y/n "hi! I'm Kirishima Eijiro! It's nice to meet you" Y/n smiled at him and looked at the other boys for their introductions.

"I'm Kaminari Denki! Nice to meet you! Are you single?" The blonde with a black lightning bolt in his hair spoke. Sero hit him on the head and sighed "shut up you idiot" The blonde on the other side of Sero grunted "why should I introduce myself to some extra?" Y/n raised her eyebrow at him "I'm guessing you're Bakugou Katsuki? My dad did tell me about some of his student" she paused "mainly the troublesome ones" Bakugou's eye twitched and he turned to glare at the girl.

Y/n shook her head and smiled at the other 2 boys. "it's very nice to meet you guys! You can just call me Y/n. I look forward to getting to know you guys better" Denki smiled back "you know after Mineta was dropped from the class I was wondering who would fill his spot. I'm glad a beautiful girl like you replaced him" Y/n laughed and shook her head "jeez you guys are going to inflate my ego so much." Sero chuckled and went back to finishing his food.

The group silently ate their food for awhile until everyone finished. "So y/n do you have a hero costume already made?" Kirishima curiously looked at her. Y/n stopped mid sip and sighed "I do but I don't think I'll be wearing it for awhile." Mina tilted her head "why not?" Y/n fidget a bit "this is going to sound kinda stupid but....my hero suit is pretty revealing and...I'm just not as comfortable in my skin as I used to be." Mina frowned at the distraught girl. "Then why don't you have it remade?"

Y/n took a quick sip of her water and started "the only one that ever made my hero suits is my tia Maria. The reason being is the thread she makes works well with my quirk. All other threads and fabrics hold my quirk back" Sero raised his eyebrow "how do they hold your quirk back?"

"More importantly what's a Tia Maria?" Denki asked. This earned a hard hit to the head from Sero "tia Maria is her Aunt Maria you idiot" Y/n laughed and continued to talk "you see when I go to use the power the constellations and zodiac provide me they change my costume. Other threads and fabrics can't handle that. They also can't handle my water wings. This is why my hero costume is kinda plain but revealing."

"Then why don't you just ask your aunt to remake it with her thread and fabric?" Y/n frowned and looked down into her water "she's already done so much for me. Plus she's a very busy woman, I don't want to bother her with it. So I just have wait until I'm comfortable in my own skin again. For now I'll just wear the gym uniform and keep my power to a minimum" this caused Bakugou to grunt and give the girl the side eye. "That's fucking stupid. Keeping your power to a minimum just because you feel what? Ugly?"

Mina gasped and was about to shout at him before y/n interrupted her. "No, you're stupid" Bakugou whipped his head towards her "HUH?!? YOU DAMN EXTRA! WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY TO ME?!" Y/n burst out laughing and shook her head before putting on a fake smile "it might be stupid but it's how I feel. I'm working to not feel this way but it's kinda hard. I was called a lot of nasty names in my old school and a first it didn't affect me but after a while their words began to chip away at me."  Y/n paused before continuing "wow that sounded sad. Anyway, yes it's stupid but I'm working on it so shut up" Bakugou grunted "whatever."

Mina saw through y/n's fake smile and put her hand on the girls arm "hey can I come to your dorm room later?" Y/n looked a Mina, curiosity filling her eyes. "Uh sure"
